I am cheering for Winnipeg. Loveable former Flames, Lowry is one of my favorite players, and Hellebuyck is awesome.
Is Landeskog playing?
Nothing confirmed yet but we know how these things work. He has been skating for a while now. I am pretty sure it will play out like Stone last year, everybody saying no way he will be back, especially in round 1, he is done for the year, etc... We know how that played out.
Jets have a deep forward group with the late season acquisitions and superior goaltender. This one has the feeling of a hard fought 7 game series. I lean towards the Avalanche but I think the Jets have a solid chance if Hellebuyck can steal a few games.
Colorado looks to be going in a bit cold and the Jets quite hot. But I don't put as much stock in that as I used to. I think the top end guys for Colorado will awaken, and Winnipeg won't be able to fully fend them off. But if Monahan has a good series and the Jets win, I can at least smile a bit.
