Anyone watch the highwaymen yet? Looks good think I'll check it out tomorrow
Watched it last night. I thought it was alright and it held my attention for the 2+ hours but at the same time it was a little Kevin Costner like in that it moved fairly slowly. Still worth a watch though.
Some of their best songs, Kick Start my heart, Doctor Feel Good for example pass the highway test. They just make you want to turn up the volume and drive fast.
Kickstart My Heart is a decent jam, but Doctor Feel Good is an instant station-change for me. Same with Smoking in the Boys Room and Girls, Girls, Girls. And this is from someone who has an appreciation for a lot of the cheese that came out in the 80s (Van Halen, Def Leppard, etc.). And this is what I mean. I generally loathe their music but still enjoyed the film.

I am sorry but did you just put Van Halen in the same category as Def Leppard, and Motley Crue and Cheese hair rock of the late 80's.
No Sir you do not do that.

Anybody watching the second season of OA? It’s interesting and kinda weird. Still a couple of episodes left for me to finish. I’ll hold judgement for now

They were ahead of the 80's glam bands but you only have to see the video of Jump to see that they were right in the thick of Cheese hair metal. Is there a more 80's metal song than Hot for Teacher? Van Halen has always been cheese but often it's been a good cheese.

I agree with you smoking the boys room, girls girls girls and even shout at the devil aren't my favorite.
But Kickstart my heard, and doctor feelgood are both strong songs for me.
Home Sweet Home was a great sex song in high school for some reason.
I actually think Too Fast for Love is 1A/1B with Shout at the Devil as their best albums as it's raw and has some punk elements to it. Theater of Pain was their worst 80's album without a doubt.

They were a extremely good band and David Lee Roth added theatrical elements to it.
But everytime I walk into a room, this should be played

Vince was never considered a great singer. Talent-wise he was the weak link of the band as Tommie was one of the best drummers of the 80's, Nikki was a talented songwriter, Mick was a great guitarist, and then you have Vince. Like David Lee Roth he was more of a frontman than great vocal talent. I have seen them live a few times and he was never as bad as the video above as in the 80's he could sing and even in 2008 he was decent enough as they put on a pretty good show at the Dome. Mick Mars in particular is kind of underappreciated as he had a blues background and wasn't one of those shredders that were prominent at the time but he was a really good rhythm player and had some great riffs (Kickstart my Heart, Dr. Feelgood, etc). The guy can barely move yet when I saw them last 10 years ago he was the best part of the show.
They were great in the 80's. First good show I saw was their Theatre of Pain tour in 85. Girls, Girls, Girls was good in 87 as well (and documented in the book. Tommy and Nikki shot Jack Daniels before the Saddledome show as they didn't want to risk bringing heroin across the border).
I never saw any of their other tours as I figured Vince's voice was shot.

That was actually a really good album but it came at a time when grunge and alternative had taken over the scene and nobody gave it a chance.
I was very late getting into this album as I had no desire to listen to a non Vince vocaled Crue. It might be their best album.
Post Shout at the Devil, most of their stuff has aged poorly.
I read an article not too long ago about the video that was shot of Diamond Dave on the rock face for that Just Like Paradise video. He was scared ####less (who wouldn't be).
