Five way tie on the back nine with another seven guys within two shots. Should be a fun finish.

Ended being a bit of a runaway.

I mean yeah, but how good was that hole by Morikawa? Of course he could still choke it away, but tough to imagine after that hole.

Yeah especially 18 is not that hard, and there's no water on this course I dont think.

That was an amazingly perfect drive for an eagle. Tough to think that he will lose this lead now although I wouldn't be surprised if someone snuck up from behind and tied him.

Imagine being 23 years old, tied for 1st in a major, stepping up to a 290 yard par 4 and driving it to 7 feet from the pin, then stepping up and coolly knocking down the eagle putt.
Unreal

It's amazing the margins in golf. Morikawa buried a 20+ foot putt for par on the 1st. That could have ruined his entire day. I think he had another long par save later, on the 6th? Then the lucky chip in on 14 and the wonderful drive on 16.

Good for Morikawa, a very likeable guy.
What a future.

Microclimates. Marine layer being only a km or so from the ocean. At the course they were playing in about 61F (16C), no sun, damp air and wind. Pretty chilly.

But even still, 16 and windy? I mean, no it's not ideal, but I couldn't see putting on any form of sweater or neck warmer in that.

At one point near the end the commentator on the course was saying that with the wind it basically felt like it was 50 degrees. That is pretty cool. I'd probably be putting on some sort of light sweater at that point.

60F and damp sounds like sweater weather to me.
Keep in mind most of these guys live in warm climates. You should see how people dress where I live when the temps dip below 50.

Last week before the playoffs. Not looking good for Hearn or any of the other Canucks outside the top 125. Hearn needs about 100 points to make it in which is solo P5, not likely.
Taylor, Hadwin, Hughes and Connors are already qualified. Be nice to see two of them make the field at East Lake.

Scottie Scheffler seemed to have round of the day on lock after shooting 59....except Dustin Johnson is -6 thru four holes....

Dustin is now -10 thru 10. If he doesn't shoot 57 at this point it's gonna be disappointing.
