Mastodon did not disappoint last night. I was originally a little bummed that their setlist omitted some classic songs but the new material sounded good live. I've never been the biggest Opeth fan but they pretty good too.

I did like Opeth, but going on after Mastodon hurt them. Mastodon was so good it used all the energy in the room.

Definitely. Their music is a step down in intensity and you could actually hear a lot of crowd chatter while they were playing their slow songs. I thought they sounded pretty tight though.

Someone put me on to this album a few weeks ago, and I'm genuinely embarrassed to have not heard it until now. The vocals are certainly one of a kind and not for everyone (or anyone?), but holy #### this absolutely rips musically.

Geez, this almost 30 years old!

They're alternating headlining spots on this tour, correct?
I ended up giving away my ticket, got busy and not knowing when Mastodon was on stage didn't help.
This is the 2nd concert in a row I have been to with co-headliners and I can agree that it's kind of annoying not knowing the order but I generally don't mind seeing bands live even if I'm not a big fan as there have been several times I've been blown away by the live performances and become a bigger fan. Case in point I actually downloaded a few Opeth songs after seeing them that I quite like and would not have come across them if it was not for hearing they played at the concert. That said my brother and I walked out of the other concert after one song from the Black Veil Brides.
Went to take in Dying Fetus last Friday after waiting around 20 years for the chance.
Had friends who years ago booked some pretty killer bands. They booked them and the venue, and promoted the show with posters. NIMBYs complained loud enough after coming across the posters around town, that Dying Fetus was prohibited from playing. This was probably around 2004? Was disappointing to say the least.
They killed it last Friday. Had been on my bucket list for a long time.

I like the new In Flames single. It's a nod to their older stuff.
See my favourite in flames album has always been The Jester Race but they've never really went back to that sound. Seen em live though and they're awesome.
