Statsny is a name that checks a lot of boxes depending on the asking price

The only guys on that team I want are Miller, Horvat and maybe Garland. Cap only works if you move Monahan and then you are really squeezed for next year.

At this point I have very little respect for the trucker convoy. But early on in the movement, I do believe the conduct and culture was different than it ended. Although I certainly did not donate myself, I don’t hold it against those

Well he donated early and then again after the Go Fund Me got refunded. So it was well into Crazy land for his second donation.

Think of it this way, without Looch and Monahan the flames could sign everyone and even maybe swing at Forsberg this summer. It's crazy how much cap space we could save in having a cheaper bottom 6.

Agree, if we can dump some bottom 6 contracts Calgary is in good shape moving forward. Not sure if someone has done any research but how is our bottom 6 salary vs the rest of the league? I feel like we are one of the biggest in the league.
If we can dump $6M in the off-season, we have the cash to resign Tkachuk and Gaudreau. Then Lucic and/or Monahan comes off the books the following season and hopefully with a nice cap bump we have the space to extend Lindholm and Hanifin

Among good teams it’s quite high. But Calgary also spends a lot less on top line and D than other good teams right now. If those two salaries go off the books, and the 2 top line players up for contracts soon get the expected raises, Calgary will be much more typical.

Friedman says some GMs think the market for rental d-men is soft.
Which is good news for the Flames who have repeatedly been reported in getting a depth rental d-man.

8. One GM described the rental defence market as “soft,” and a couple of his compatriots concurred. A major reason is that there’s a lot of them, with multiple options from either side. We’ve mentioned before that the early ask was what Columbus got last season for David Savard (a first and a third), but buyers feel they can squeeze the sellers. And I think some will wait to see what happens with Hampus Lindholm.

Ducks GM Pat Verbeek says he will trade Manson, Lindholm, and Rackell if they can’t come to terms on new contracts. He doesn’t intend to lose any of them for nothing.

IDK they are 2 points out of 2nd in the division with super easy games this week
I don't have a ton of confidence in the other Pacific teams right now

I think the Kylington scare may have Treliving ush in more chips to get a quality defender at the deadline. That must have made management's hearts collectively skip a beat or six.

Three spots up for grabs from 4 teams:
LAK: 54G, 65P
VGS: 54G, 64P
EDM: 54G, 64P
DAL: 52G, 61P
The only team out of those 4 that I feel confident that they won't eff it up is VGS. Any of the other 3 are more than capable of total ineptitude. But of those 3, I like the Kings the best - they are playing good hockey.

I wonder if he knows all 3 love California and is putting public pressure on them.
