If you want an iconic skyscraper photo while in Manhattan but you don't feel like waiting in line at the Empire State Building, go to the Top of the Rock instead.
Skating at Rockerfeller Plaza is pretty neat, but you'll be surprised at how small the ice surfrace is. It looks a lot bigger on tv/movies.
The MSG tour is awesome. Try to go on a non-game day. That's when they open up the dressing rooms.
My 14 y.o. son made this video the last time we were in NY. I am obviously biased, but I think it is pretty damn good video and really captures the 'energy' of NYC. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge (walk west from Brooklyn back to Manhattan) is always a must for me.

I did a bicycle today tour from Manhatten to Brooklyn, also up to Harlem. It was great. I highly recommend doing a bike tour. The guides are great, and you see places you wouldn't otherwise see.
