Icon40 Pens going all in: More moves on the way

The Pittsburgh Penguins realize that with Pastrnak, McDavid, Provorov all due big raises after this season that the window to keep this team together and win a cup is closing.

Therefore there are a lot of trade talks going on right now. The most likely scenario is that we add vets now and keep the entire core together and blow things up prior to the draft. However, the trade talks are running rampant.

On the block right now:
Brendan Gallagher
Nico Hischier
Ivan Provorov
Brady Skjei
Mikkel Boedker
Anders Lee
Rikard Rackell
Morgan Frost
Jakub Lauko
All AHLers (except Primeau, Mete, Poehling)

Players that could be had, but not likely
David Pasternak/Connor Mcdavid - High percentage that both guys are Pens next season, but they have been discussed and could potentially move prior to the draft.
Kane/Pietroangelo/Murray - These guys are helping me too much now so the deal would have to work. They may be moved in the off-season.

The preference is to build for a run, but there is a lot that can happen and I am open to ideas.

Isles trade Thornton and Kovalchuk to Pittsburgh for Jakub Lauko, Jacob de la Rose, and a 3rd

Pens go throw back style:

Bring in one of my Favourite players in Kovalchuk. Kovalchuk spent most of the early 2000s as a member of the CPHL Pens.

Joe Thornton was a big part of the Pens most successful seasons. He wants another cup in Pittsburgh. We hope he can bring back some magic of the 2007-08 season when he was the league MVP and top scorer.
