Khabibulins blocker save in game 7 is one of the best saves I’ve ever seen.

It was McLean all over again, just a little different.

the puck is on the toe of the skate. It’s over the line. Flames are 2004 cup champions

So even if it was declared a goal, they would have just stopped the game and canceled the last 6 minutes?

There was not a single lead change in the entire 7 game series.

But had it been in/counted, that would've been a lead change. I guess it was destiny to not count then, or something?

That Bennett pic just reminds me of snarky John Shannon and his parallax angle rant.

I really dislike John Shannon.

Does this image from tonight's game 6 of the 2019 SCF make things better or worse?

I guess it’s nice the NHL has learned from their mistakes and actually used technology to get a call right.

That game had a few 2004 vibes. That goal, the home team trailing 1-0 on a 5-on-3, and the home team missing a chance to win in game 6.

It was not a reviewable play in 2004. It wouldn't have counted

We didn't have as good of cameras back then. Didn't have the crossbar camera.

Still, it was in

Lindy Ruff has never moved on from that tainted Stars win. Ruff said it was no goal the day he was hired to coach the Stars. You never ever let it go, Gelinas scored that goal!

The ABC cameras had good shots of it.

Was Jeff Brown's pass offside in 1994?

If the purpose of the comment was only to identify injustices perpetrated by the officials, well then I misunderstood. The Vancouver series in 1989 was determined in OT of game 7. I'm pretty sure the Flames had an iffy call go in their favor somewhere along the way in that series. Same with Vancouver in 2004.

I guess I'm not in the camp that thinks questionable calls only ever go against my team.
I agree with you on the last point, but yeah, the comment was about questionable calls IMO. But even if it's just about close series, while the first round in 89 was close, but really shouldn't have been (and Smyl's shot was a muffin). After that I never actually got nervous in a series. I don't think many teams have won a cup with any less difficulty over the entire POs. And in 04, we are not just talking about a blown call. We are talking about a blown call on a goal which would have put Calgary ahead in an elimination game with almost no time left. And then a trip leading to an OT win for Tampa. Some calls are bigger than others.

It was with 6:55 left in the 3rd period. Towards the end of the game, sure. But far from "almost no time left." The stoppage afterwards for the offside was about 30 seconds later.

Why, why can't sports be fun

Some fans can go a life time without seeing their team win a championship, to even get the finals is enough to trigger a memory that can last a life time and remember back on.

It was in, is a simple reminder of how close as a fan it was to seeing a team you cheered day in and day out for years come to being champions. The It was In! is a simple reminder that can unit fans and remember what could have been

I'll rather have fun, embrace the it was in, it's not like anyone obsession has caused their life to take a downward spiral

Let be honest, when people think back to the series, the first thing that comes to mind was It Was In and NOT Dave Andreychuk raising the Stanley Cup. I'll take that

Fair enough. In my recollection it was less time. Heck, I bet a lot of people think it was in OT.

Kipper would have shut the door, though, so 1 minute, 6 minutes, no diff.
