Anyone find any information on the free rapid test kits, are they out of them everywhere?

It’s possible for sure. There’s an enormous amount of content and information out there and I definitely don’t keep track of it all. But it sure seems like the gist of it all is that the variant is milder and spreads like wildfire. I haven’t seen much to suggest a large difference from those generalizations.

I believe the Flames doctor said many have mild symptoms and a few have, what he called, moderate symptoms like chills, fever, fatigue.

Sure, and to finish the sentence he said they quickly turn the corner within 36-48 hours. I mean if that's a moderate case, I'm not saying it would be a fund day or two, but it's hardly worth getting concerned over.

Not everyone in society is in peak physical form in their mid 20's. Using how Ill the Flames got as a reference point for anything isn't representative, so I'm not sure why you keep circling back to that.

All fully vaccinated, all healthy individuals.
Eat well, exercise, active....this definitely bodes well for those of us who are in the same boat.
Seems like on the individual level we are more in control that we've ever been.

We're talking about individuals that have tested and are confirmed positive for Covid. Not those that are displaying symptons and unconfirmed.
Where are you getting this information?
Which Provinces?

Vaccination uptake is different now for starters.
Booster availability.
I'd imagine treatment options at the hospitals are better as they've learned a lot more.
Those things weren't all necessarily available a year ago.

Manitoba allows for hockey players to come out of quarantine if they have two negative tests within 24 hours.
It is part of the exemptions they give the rich and powerful.
Us poor peasants don't have that option.
It was posted earlier in the thread. Had to dig quite a bit to find it.
Ontario does the same thing, but I'm not sure if its available to the general public.
It is not available in Alberta. Part of the balanced and consistent approach our public health bodies have bee taking the last 2 years.

One could say people who are mentally ill enough to kill themselves over money are already close to death as well.
As stated, our health care system is set up to handle all those types of health problems, it is not nor will it ever be able to handle a pandemic.

Circling back to what? I brought it this morning for the first time. But if people are increasingly catching this, and the symptoms are minor, it’s hard for me to get particularly excited about.

Think that is everyone hope (well minus everyone catching it, could probably do without that)

It should be that way for everyone, more people would get tested if they feel a little sick if knew they wouldn't automatically loose 2 weeks pay.

Be careful what you wish for. People can test positive long after they are no longer contagious.

I really disagree with this. A lot of support was pulled back and a lot of people were isolated socially and economically due to covid. A situation that would not naturally have arisen. On top of that a lot of suicidal ideation can be transitory and avoided with proper treatment.

Does anyone really know when you're not contagious
People can also test negative 2 days after a positive test yet they have to quarantine for 10.
This is a problem, and a dumb one.

Suicide rates in Canada have not gone up because of Covid, actually I read somewhere they're gone down in the last 2 years.
My point is if you're mentally ill enough to end your life, you'll do it anyway.

People given help can and do move past suicidal thoughts. To say they'll do it anyway is just ignorant.
