I thought you'd been around long enough to know that I'm one of the she's on the board.

If username changes were allowed, I'd change mine to something like grrlgoalie33

That is some really tough news. Best of luck to you.

Happens all the time. Usually you just need a decent reason.

I was under the impression that it is discouraged but there are circumstances where they take care of it.

you should ask.

Who would I ask, or do I just make a post in a thread and hope a mod sees it?

But we all get to vote on it.

I nominate Mrs Frankster. Or the always popular Frankster McFranksterface.

my wife gmg today

a while ago, one of the topics discussed on cp was a car battery booster (used to jump start a vehicle with a dead battery). a few pm's with DoubleF and i was all hooked up on amazon and waited until black friday and ordered a couple for my wife's and my vehicles.
i know it's a kind of lame present, but i saved it for christmas since i had no clue what to get my wife (we've been married 20+ years). once i explained what it was she was actually really happy with it (yea for me! ha! ha!)
fast forward to today.... i get a call from her "my car won't start"
my immediate response was "awesome! you can try the battery jumper i got you for christmas!"
wife "ummmmmm"
me "it's super easy to use! i put the instructions in the storage container with the jumper... you connect the jumper cables to the one end of the jumper, hit a button and you should be good to go to jump the car!"
wife... nothing but crickets
me "hello?"
wife "the jumper isn't in the car"
me "yes it is, i put it in the back of your car on boxing day"
wife "i took it out of my car this past friday and put it in the house"
me "what? why?"
i don't even know what her excuse/reason for removing it from her car was, all i knew was that i had to leave work early to get her car going so she could take our daughter to dance.

oh.... and when i got home i found her battery jumper and left it right in the center of the front entrance so she'd feel shame as she opened the front door! ha! ha!
needless to say - it's back in her car!

Are you eagerly anticipating an alternate conclusion based upon this same complaint. Cos, ya know, that’s…er…. Unlikely.

Oh faaahk WRGMG is having my vehicle catalytic converter hacked out whilst parked at a designated park and ride lot. Costs me time and a hefty insurance deductible. At least my vehicle allowed me to drive home. Albeit sounding like a top fuel dragster with poor tuning.

Blame Thomas Jefferson for coming up with that saying in the first place.

Thumbs up

First, I am sorry about the news Frankster/Grrrlgoalie33.

Second, I was very confused about the wild ride about the username. Good job mods in being responsive.

Well there you go!

Now you can tell everyone that you're 'The Poster Formerly Known as Frankster.'

Or not.

I love using that cliche because it makes intellectuals upset.

Similar to the “insanity” cliche, but the overuse of “case in point” and “I rest my case” really gets me. I would say 90+% if the time it’s people “resting their case” on something that doesn’t actually bolster their point at all, though it’s often hard to tell because the original case they’re presenting is usually absurdly dumb. Example:

OP: “I’ve noticed people eating more cheeseburgers, and I think people who eat cheeseburgers are actually Hitler youth.”

Response: “Cheeseburgers are usually pretty affordable so it probably has more to do with inflation and the expanse of lower income people than it does a sudden rise in Hitler youth.”

OP: “I rest my case.”
