That sounds gross. But without the BBQ sauce, it's actually quite tasty.
I had a lot of fried luncheon meat + egg sandwiches as a kid. Even coin purse egg on bread was a tasty breakfast.
No to BBQ sauce on that spam and egg sandwich though. Ruins a great thing. Tabasco would be acceptable though. *Drool*

When I was in the states they had some interesting Spam varieties - hickory, jalapeño. Hickory was really nice, especially cubed and fried and then added to mac and cheese.

It can’t be worse than what goes into a hotdog or cheap sausage, can it?

I ate one of these the other week. I have never felt like a bigger pile of human garbage than I did while I was chomping my way through it.
(no judgement to the McRib lovers, but I did not care for it at all)

I tried a bunch of flavors in Hawaii years ago. Tabasco spam was surprisingly good and I had never thought it would have synergized. I always add tabasco when I make spam musubi now.
Garlic and jalapeno were OK. Hickory not bad, but I think the way I did it made it taste a little teriyaki-like. But Hickory spam burnt ends might be damn good idea.
Bringing up spam is actually making me wonder if a thin BBQ sauce infused piece of spam below the McRib patty would actually taste good.

I get they’re not healthy, but they can be that bad on your digestive tract.
Oh wait, is it cause you find lettuce intolerably spicy?

Grabbed one tonight. I'll echo most people who've said it's not as good as I remember. Sauce seemed watered down too

I'm sure they've all had hot dogs before.
I get people not liking it but that's a few posts in this thread about being worried or grossed out by the ingredients..... it's ground pork, bbq sauce, onions, pickles and bun, there's nothing weird here

Lol. I for some reason went for round two today. While I was eating it, I was just thinking that this basically a flat hot dog. Even the bun is hot dog bun like. Although it's likely pure pork, I do think it's ridiculous they form the minced meat into something that's supposed to look like a rib and call it a rib-which. It still deserves the mystery meat label, for that reason. It's far from ribs.

I think the term “ground pork” is a little duplicitous. I have bought ground pork from the grocery store and made some small patties with sausage seasoning and the texture is quite different.
If they just used normal ground pork, they might have something really good. Something akin to Charbar’s Alley Burger, but doused in bbq sauce instead.

What they need is to ditch that weird patty and slap on some real char siu or roasted pork belly. Pork belly is like $6 / lb for us mortals, McDs could work out some deal with their pork people.

I grind my own meats and the McRib reminds me of an extra lean ground pork. The original is more like a regular ground pork which is much more fatty and oily.
McD's sin here is basically making the McRib healthier. I'm at McD's I'm supposed to get trashy and unhealthy food!

You mean like the Filet-O-Fish? garbage parts of a de-boned Pollock(a fish sometimes used as lobster and crab bait). bleached, pressed and made into a filet.
Welcome to fast food

People love making up these horror stories about fast food items, but in reality it’s a lot less dramatic.
The filet-o-fish is literally just a filets of pollock stacked and cut into squares. There’s no bleach or “making it” into a filet, it just is what it is.
