I love GTA and am very excited for GTA IV next week. The only question now is: how much of a geek am I regarding this game? Would I . . . say . . . attend a prelaunch party at northland mall and pick the game up at a midnight launch on a monday?

Right now I'm actually considering doing this. Would I lose face among my CP brethren? If I'm being irrational and one of you would like to e-slap me, have at 'er. The thought of playing right up until work Tuesday morning is kind of appealing.

ill be at eb games in westbrook at 12:01 on monday.. probably gonna end up playing it for about 4 hours when i get home too

I always thought that guy had a really sweet downtown view of Denver, Colorado. Good bachlor's pad if you get rid of the junk.

With San Andreas, I kind of got turned off on the series. But with the new console generation and reading up on some of the multiplayer details, I've been getting excited. And IGN just dropped their review: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/869/869381p1.html

you should mention that IGN gave the game a perfect 10/10. the last game to get such a rating was Soul Caliber in 1999. i was looking forward to this game before, but after reading that review i'm nearly foaming at the mouth

I'm really, really, really... REALLY excited for the online component. Especially the Cops and Robbers game play online. That'll be awesome.

Don't know much about the GTA franchise. Is it just driving/walking around shooting and hitting people in cars and cops and stuff? Not that I mind that sort of thing, walking around in COD4 is currently my fav.

You can walk around and do whatever you like, explore the city, go on random crime sprees... or you go to certain spots in the city to get missions. They start of easy, like go to this place, pick this guy up, then go home... then they get intense.

I love this series. If they added a few more things It would be the best game ever ,made. I wish they would put children, people in wheelchairs... daycares....

theres already awesome san andreas online multiplayer..its fun as hell. This should be even better!

In my subsequent youtube searches, I am aware of that now. Too bad I didn't earlier... Oh well, probably saved me some money anyway.

I haven't been gaming too much in recent months, but judging by early reviews, this game is a must play experience. Sounds like they really put together and incredible experience here. Can't wait to try it out.

Question to anyone who may know the answer:

If I want to buy this game, is it imperative that I either pre-order it or hit up one of these midnight sales in order to avoid sold-out situations? Ideally I could just walk by HMV on Tuesday and grab one, but will enough stock be shipped? Is it going to be a phenomenon in popularity?

Not trying to hijack the thread but on a related note have any of you heard of EB offering a $200 trade-in promtion for a 360 or PS3? Trade in 8 games with $8 TIV. I only say this because I'd love to get a PS3 and this could be an affordable way of doing it.
