Which big name players do you think are going to end up being PTO’s this year?
Or even not finding a spot at all?
I’m wondering about a few flames like Stone or Hamonic.
Stone might be out of the league this year?
Hamonic I’m guessing maybe a PTO?

Hamonic could get a contract if he even wants to play (covid) he is holding out for western canada though which makes things tougher.

Hamonic probably gets a 4x4 with the Oilers if he wants it.

Hopefully they put him with one of their young D, thus rendering them useless.

IDK about "big name", but Erik Haula is a decent player without a contract, which I find somewhat surprising.
Maybe teams are worried about his injury history. PTO might be the only way for him.

One name I’m surprised is still out there is Haula. Had 29 goals two seasons ago (though that appears to be an outlier).
Still, he could be a great bargain for a team looking for depth. He’s at least a solid 10-15 goal scorer.

A lot of teams need to clear space to sign the more well known UFAs left out there. And drive their price down. I suspect some players are now being advised a PTO deal might be better than signing now, money-wise, especially keeping in mind other teams scout PTOs on other teams (Versteeg).

IMO haula must be one of those guys who came it at a higher value than clubs could realistically offer in this environment and is now struggling to find offers after rejecting a few.

Saw an article where his agent said he had 10-12 legitimate offers. Could be posturing, or could be taking his time.

People always need D, so I'd guess all of Alzner, Hamonic, MDZ, Kulikov.
I want to say Vatanen but my feel is he'll get a league minimum before PTOs start being extended.

IMO, that would be very surprising. 25 years old.
Prorated , he is a 20 plus goal scorer and 40 point player each of the last 2 seasons.

I wouldn’t mind a low AAV bet on myself type deal for Duclair but we are loaded with lefties and would prefer to throw a PTO at Perry or even just lock Perry up instead of a PTO to a low AAV 1 year deal.

I think he will get a contract but I don’t think he will even get what Ottawa was offering. He really should have gotten an agent for negotiations. He also should have realized that unless he was a top player that he had no chance of getting top dollar under these Covid /flat cap times.

Perry isn't going to sigh a PTO
Just because a guy hasn't signed doesn't mean he doesn't have offers. We don't even know when the season starts there is no rush
