I dunno, my impression is kinda the opposite, but maybe that's just the comparison to Trump which is admittedly a low bar. But he's getting into the weeds of actual policies rather than just sticking to top level talking points, he's able to speak directly to people.

My only problem with his speaking is that he often starts a new idea before finishing the previous one, but usually both ideas are correct and relevant to the point he's trying to address.

I agree completely. Biden was never a great speaker.

On channel you have a president not willing to state that there isn't a democratic satanic pedophile ring, and discussing why he's retweeting absolute nonsense.

On the other you have a guy talking about actual ideas and policies.

I've been watching President Bone Spurs for around 5 minutes and I haven't heard a single true statement yet. You'd figure he would fall into a truth at some point.

He was very underleveraged when he ran for President! haha.

As I've noted previously, I (as a shock to no one) mingle in some *very* left leaning circles. This is probably (outside of Twitter, "stare into the void" ventures into Voat and Gab, and random Facebook articles) the most centrist/right-wing space I communicate with on a frequent basis.

I do not identify as a "radical leftist", regardless of my reputation here, and in these other circles I am significantly more center than a good portion of the posters. That said, after discussing this video with a notable amount of self-identifying socialists/communists, this video did resonate.

There are those that have written off the entire system entirely due to the oligarchical nature of the US and the general belief that only "revolution" will change the system, but for many who want to see affected change from within, this video spoke their language, from a person whose comedic opinion they do not distrust. It was exactly the kind of video that would push more ambivalent leftists to consider voting.

Their craft is so good and their shorts are so compelling that you have to give them credit for their work. Do I buy what they are selling? Hell no. But if they help defeat Trump I'll let them do their thing. They are swaying lots of people with their messages, so that is a good thing.

Bernie Bros are just a little too crazy for my liking. I don't know what it is. Whether it's the intentional ignorance of the system, of their pie in the sky optimism/expectation for a 180 turn in how Americans perceives the country and themselves, it is just too much. This is a country that runs in the other direction from the hint of socialism, unaware they fully embrace it in so many ways. Maybe its just the fact that this group can't get their heads around changing their messaging to show just how socialist the US is? If they could get together with the Lincoln Project guys and get them to produce some spots showing just how socialist the United States is, maybe they could gain some traction. Until they develop a better messaging campaign they are considered the fringe. That is what needs to change, because you can't win anything being on the fringe side of the left.
And this is effectively the crux of it, and the problem with centrism in the US. You identify more with a group you (in theory) would find morally reprehensible in most contexts from a social standpoint, but hold your nose to share their content and pat them on the back for their output because you share a common goal (their intentions and post-election interests notwithstanding). Leftists however, you do not choose to identify with at all. There is a handwaving of appreciation for their "nobility" and "purity of purpose", but no acknowledgement that you (I assume) very much share many of their social desires.

How sad is it that you will be more humane and welcoming to a group that opposes your base ideals because they have money, power and a slick ad campaign, and dismiss the crass, grassroots attempts at achieving the same thing (ousting Trump), even though you have more in common politically with that group.

If you don't believe there is a merit to engaging or understanding leftists to try and help you achieve your goal, but it's okay to reach across the aisle because they "speak your language", you are the embodiment of why there is so much disillusionment and cynicism about the Democratic Party.

Yeah it's schtick because he's not portraying himself as a serious newsperson. He rants about serious news but it's meant to be entertaining.

I only found out about him when his videos got posted in the IDW thread but he started doing his news schtick while working at Cracked, so take that for what it's worth.

I've watched his takedown of Tucker Carlson many times now because it's enjoyable. It literally helps me get to sleep.

This is such nauseating partisanship. Obama did absolutely dick all to disrupt the influence of Wall Street in politics and actually catered to it once he was in office.

I see merit in it, but at this time in the history of the country it is too dangerous to do so. As I've said repeatedly, and it has been ignored time-and-time-again, Americans run in the other direction from even the mention of socialism. This is one of the more popular signs in my neighborhood for Trump supporters.

NSFW!

Getting branded a socialist is a death sentence in American politics, an independent Sanders being the exception. You don't want that, and you want to avoid even whispers of it. So you want to keep your support for the extreme left on the down low. Yeah, bring them to the table after the election, but to do it right now feeds the American paranoia and pushes voters to Trump. Win the election first, then pivot by bringing those people into the cabinet in very specific positions.

I don't think any president could, even if that was their intention initially. I don't even thing Bernie could do it.

This is why I don't like the idea of people like Stewart ever running for president. It guarantees that you need to either lie or bend your principles in some way just to get in.

Yeah I watched a bit of Biden tonight and thought he was just fine. He's always rambled on when he's answering questions but at least he's actually answering the questions and not just lying non-stop. He also stayed afterwards to answer more questions from the audience which I think speaks volumes. Some on the right make it sound like the guy can barely stand up or speak, clearly that isn't true.

Some the things Trump says would be downright hilarious if he wasn't president.

Trump really is the Rodney Dangerfield of national leaders. His town hall is just like watching a long Rodney Dangerfield bit.

If ever, there were a finer example of why we need civics education, it's this moment. This is literally the 1st amendment to the constitution in action, and she thinks it shouldn't be allowed.

Disgusting.

Also disgusting? The guy who shouted "#### you #######" as he drove by in his truck.

America? We've got some healing to do.

You do you, golf cart guy. Keep up the fight. You are in the right.
