Quick is signed until 2023 at $5.8 million so unless you are really confident that he's going to rebound and get back to playing like the top tender he was ,that's a really big gamble in my honest opinion

I think Talbot would be a fantastic pick-up for Calgary. Seems like a total Dubnyk scenario, and would likely be cheap given UFA status, his stats this year, and the Oilers' commitment to his replacement.

Probably would have to engineer a 3-way trade, but maybe not - wouldn't be the first time the Oilers and Flames have done a direct deal.

Talbot or Howard would be a great pickups. There’s no doubt in my mind a goalie is #1 on the radar. Bob is a pipedream but I still can dream

4. Duchene to Nashville for '19 1st, Tolvanen
5. Ceci to Edmonton for '19 1st, '19 2nd, Puljujarvi, Yamamoto, Jones
Wow if all of that went down on the same day it would be amazing. Btw I fixed your Ceci trade to something more realistic.

Just seems like he’d have all the motivation. A deep run vs. Fizzing out the season with the Jackets could make him MILLIONS more over his term IMO.

He’d strictly be a rental however.

Charlie Coyle.

Right age, right salary, under the radar type of guy.

Biased on this one, but I think Daniel Sprong would be a great fit for the Flames.

I'm not a huge Howard fan, but he is having a decent season despite how bad the Wings are and he would be an upgrade.

I would like to see Kronwall as part of the deal too.

Talbot has been ass all season though. I think he was just a flash in the pan.

Seems like half of the LA Kings is up for grabs - fire sale! As for JBo, maybe the Oilers can pick him up. Flames don't need him as they need some depth on D with some toughness, not another softy. IF the Flames pick up JBo, might as well get the complimentary pairing with Butler!

Would love to see Carter and Clifford in a Flames uniform come playoffs. These are big guys that can contribute. Realistically, Clifford would be ideal with his salary cap until 2020.

Carter is 34, and under a pretty sizeable contract that takes him to 37. Plus you'd better be sure he wants to come here because we've all seen what he does when traded to a city he doesn't like.

Clifford is a better grab. But on this team he doesn't get nearly the same minutes, or points. Toffoli checks more boxes for me. Hagelin as a rental maybe.

Please only entertain players who are a free agent at year's end or are still in their prime. None of this deadline day or signing guys on the offseason who are past their prime or hold an anchor of a contract. I would rather risk losing a guy in the offseason and having the cap space than be stuck with bad contracts.
