The subtle response by Tkachuk was the best part.

Is he actually a good fighter? We haven't seen him go yet as far as I know

Prout is an ok middleweight.

He's beaten: Simmonds, Lee, Chris Stewart, Haley, Wilson, Chris Neil, Maroon, Lucic once

He's lost to: Lucic a couple times, Gudbranson, Shawn Thornton, Chimera, McCormick, Chris Neil, Christ Stewart

Why? So he doesn't get the instigator and suspended?

He's 1-2-1 against Lucic. To be honest, his win against Lucic was a suckerpunch as Lucic hadn't dropped his gloves yet for some reason... but I still enjoyed it.

Probably a good idea not to dress eat bread for this game as well.

Call up kerby for the 4th line. For size and he seems to be having a good year!

What is that famous John Wayne quote. "A big mouth don't make a big man." Kane has a higher perceived notion of himself than others. Whatever he does, just make him irrelevant.

Just don't want to see Bennett hurt himself in that fight.

We need toughness down the stretch here and any time off means more mangipane and czarnik which doesn't exactly scream "tough" or "winning battles"

Hopefully Bennett does what he always does, land a few quick shots and then hand it over to officials

I enjoyed that too. But it was far from a sucker punch. Lucic gave him the double fist to the head and skated at him. They clinched and Lucic had more than enough time to protect himself, and he knew he was in a fight at that point. He got dropped! And then cried about it

I personally would not classify that as a sucker punch. Lucic saw Prout drop his gloves and engaged him, Prout gave Lucic time before he threw anything.

Man the Sharks are annoying. They should be irrelevant by now but you gotta hand it to Wilson, he is unreal at retooling on the fly.

Kane seems pretty tall when he's off the ice trying to intimidate a microphone.

Kane and Bennett will scrap. Kane has basically backed himself into a corner where his ego would take a hit if he didn’t back up his yap. His ego won’t allow that. Bennett is not going to back down if challenged, so they are going to scrap.

Kane will win that fight 9/10 times. But it’s not about that for the Flames, there’s no pretending the Flames are a “tough” team in a win the fights sense, but what it’s about is making sure the opposition won’t be able to push us around and not expect push back, physical play back and sticking up fir team mates. That’s the definition of a tough and gritty team and the Flames have been that. All Bennett has to do is answer the bell doesn’t matter if he wins the fight. Then the rest of them just need to do their thing, use their skill, the Bennett’s and Tkachuk need to continue to agitate and be physical, and the Gios and Hamonics need to make their forwards pay a price.

We don’t need to win the fights, we just need to respond and don’t let them change our game, this will be fun!

I would say, if any one is distracted by what may happen on the ice Thursday night, it’s Kane himself. Id prefer he goes out and tries to engage with Tkachuk or Bennett and ends up taking a dumb penalty which results in a PP goal.
I don’t think the Flames are going to fall into his head games

He’s not afraid to pay premium prices for premium players - which is a good way to manage. Teams die slowly when they’re out there spending assets on mid/low-tier players.

I hate Kane on the Sharks, but would love him on the Flames. Sure they paid to get Karlsson, but again...that’s elite talent.

...doesn’t hurt that San Jose is a desirable market for players to play in.

Let Kane take himself out of the game with his stupidity and make sure you prepare by dressing a strong line-up. Othetwise, business as usual.
