4 at 3 in overtime

Nice comeback by the Kings, Kempe and Toffoli scored the GTG and GWG respectively and assisted on each other's goal. Kovalchuk with 2 assists and has been playing well lately. The Kings are 8 points back of the 8th place Canucks. The Rangers needed the 2 points as they are 7 points back of the 8th place BJs.

Sure hope Edler recovers from the freak facial accident, that was scary to watch on replays. Carter Hart was simply terrific in net making 41 saves as the Flyers were literally on the ropes on in the 3rd period, the shots were 18-4 for the Canucks. It was a rookie mistake by Hart that led to the Canucks scoring, he came out and shot the puck off the boards right to Boeser who scored into an open net. Perfect PK by Philly, the Flyers are hot, and are now just 5 points back of the BJs who are sagging.

Wow, after a scoreless 1st period, the Ducks simply collapsed as the Leafs just turned it on. Gibson is probably fatigued from playing so much in net and the Ducks don't have a decent back up. He was pulled for the 3rd game in a row although he had 35 shots fired at him. Johnsson had 4 points (2g and 2a).

4 at 5 in regulation time

The Stars win their 5th straight game as special teams sure helped their cause. The Stars were 3 for 4 on the PP and 5 for 5 on the PK. Seguin and Benn each had 2 points. What a 3rd period the 2 teams put on, 6 goals were scored. The Stars started the period shorthanded due to a major penalty on Ritchie. Early in the period the Coyotes had 2 minor penalties called against which stopped their PP chances. Dallas scored 3 goals in 71 seconds. The Coyotes came back with 2 goals in a minute to tie it until Seguin scored the GWG. Talk about deja vu for both teams as exactly 4 months ago, the Coyotes were in Dallas and the Stars scored 3 goals in 96 seconds and won that game too.

Second round to Tampa. Then cap hell. Matthews 12M, Marner 11M, Gardiner gone, Hainsey gone, Kapanen 4.5M, Johnsson 2M, now have fun filling out your lineup guys.

The funny part is where their fans start talking about how various teams are going to help them out by taking contracts like Marleau and Zaitsev off their hands.
