NHL radio today calling the Ducks the worst team in the league. Love it.

What a save by Hart.
One reason I always like Shorthouse is that he gives credit to the other team.
Take notes Kevin Quinn.

The Kings tie it up with a minute left in regulation time.

The Kings win it in overtime on a two on one, Clifford scored. The Rangers nearly won it but hit the post.

The Ducks are a mess. What a shame.
There's gotta be some major changes there from now into the summer. They need to rebuild, stat.

You are correct. The CBC website had posted Clifford.

2 more years of Getzlaf and Perry at 8.6 million, 3 more of Kesler at 6.8. Good luck getting rid of those contracts.
A mess is right.

February 4, just four games.
^
Getzlaf would garner interest even at that sticker-price. The other two, not so much.

Are you somehow implying that Perry and Getzlaf are on bad contracts?
Do you realize that with the exception of last year they've won the Pacific division every year since those deals were signed?
Every team in the NHL would take that kind of 'mess'.

Perry is, and you missed Kesler.
I don't think any team would take their mess today, and that's what I'm talking about.

The Flyers win again and it is eight in a row now.
The Coyotes lead 2-1 after forty minutes.

The deals have worked out well for the most part, we're just talking about moving forward. Getzlaf is still a good player but Perry has really taken a step back the past year or so and just played his first game of this season a few days ago. He's just not the same player he was and trying to move that contract (if the Ducks wanted to kickstart a rebuild) would be pretty tough. Maybe not impossible, but tough.

Perry and Getzlaf signed 8 year deals. Won the division in 5/6 years.
Calling them bad contracts is bull#### revisionist history.

Moving forward? No, they would not. Getzlaf is still a good player, but Kessler looks done and no one knows how much can reasonably be expected from a 34-year-old Corey Perry. It’s a pretty bad situation.

I don't think anybody is saying the contracts over their term haven't been worth it for the Ducks, they've certainly had some success. Just talking about today and moving forward, if the Ducks wanted to ship out some big contracts to start a rebuild they would have a very tough time. That's a lot of dollars for older players who just aren't who they used to be.

Would Getzlaf agree to a trade though?
He's won his Cup and seems pretty content in Orange County.
