When you get an early unexpected lead against a superior opponent.

They rarely play that way because often they dont get as fortunate as that.

Denmark would not view anyone a superior opponent.

You act like Denmark is some crap side. They aren't. They are fulling deserving of being in the knockout stage.

I'm not going to disagree, but Croatia is a superior side, if you run-and-gun with them you're likely going to regret it.

And yet the Danes are controlling the play and look far more dangerous thru 40 mins.

^^Croatia have been very poor is what he's saying, because they always choke. But this is Croatia to a T, they're either choking out right now or they're gonna escape and go on a run to the Final.

Which is weird because I thought them absolutely handing Argentina their asses was the impetus that they needed to get to the next level.

But this aint it.

Yes and that's fine, but it comes across as labeling an entire country and their culture as a disappointment. Croats are a pretty damn good group of people who have been a through a lot.

Oh dude.....you're taking this way too seriously.

I may make cultural jokes, but thats to be expected. We've run the gamut in this thread alone and its all par for the course.

The core of my point though is that Croatia produces some amazing talent but when you put them together they do not become more than the sum of their parts which is what you need to succeed at the World Cup.

Croatia absolutely punches above their weight-class. And I like Croatia. I'm just being normally cynical as someone who has followed Croatia for years at major tournaments and been disappointed again, and again, and again.

And again.

I want Croatian success (despite having absolutely 0 Croatian heritage) because I like their players and their style.

I do dislike their inability to get their act together. But its become a pattern.

Kind of like Tottenham. They have a good group of players that are just accustomed to failure.

That should’ve been a card on Rebic for intentional handball

First half was pretty good, second half has been pretty dire though.
