My initial thoughts would be Hing Wa Imports on Centre Street (beside dragon city mall). I'd think a shop in Dragon City, Pacific Place Mall and/or Cross Iron Mills would have them also, but don't know of a specific place. Also can't speak of the quality of the sets you might find.

Bestshop in New Horizon Mall, give them a call and ask.

Also I see some decent ones on Facebook Marketplace if you want to go that route.

Beyond where to buy, there's a few additional things to consider that could help your decision.

I'm not sure if you're just buying a set for a friend as a gift, or looking to do a setup for yourself. If the latter, you'll probably want a basic idea for the playing space along with the tiles.

What do you mean by nice Mahjong set? You can buy full size and smaller sized mahjong and travel sized Mahjong (plus I'm ignoring cards).

Usually durability (without chipping when shuffling the tiles) is one of the facets considered important. I'd also say full sized tiles are better than smaller sized tiles, although some people like smaller sized (ie; 3/4 size) for older people when their finger strength starts to wane (requirement for stacking). A good set is probably between $80-180

This is a link with good images in size comparison of the tiles. Honestly most people have no clue about this. They only notice it once they start playing and then will comment about whether they like or dislike the feeling and size of the tile. My relatives in HK would usually have several sets of tiles for a variety of reasons. Size depending on the mood of the elders, cleanliness (ie: they'd have a set in detergent cleaning/drying and pull out another set to keep playing) and feel (ie: combinations of size, quality of set, age of set, damage to tiles etc.). I assume you're not that hardcore though and it's all for a gift.

Then you may also need to consider the Mahjong table. A good Mahjong table space is important for the ability to shuffle, stack and quickly play games without interruption or delays due to losing tiles. A good folding table or table top (ie: poker table insert) is probably around $100-250.

Sets of both tiles and tables on the other hand, I'm not sure. You can easily get some for $80-250 all in, but I don't know of the quality.

All in set (seems like a 3/4 size) plus a playing top. $80.

This type is the more "traditional" foldable mahjong table.

This is an example of a mahjong table space that you can put on top of a regular table or folding table.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

Good call on the table - an important but often ignored part of the MJ setup and experience! Table needs to support loud and aggressive banging from a tile being smashed down when someone gets what they want (or not!)!

Heh, and shoving tiles aggressively at other players while shuffling.

My relatives used to also spray lemon pledge on the MJ table top so that the tiles would slide better too. If they weren't slamming the tiles, they'd slide it into the discard area like they were trying to play mahjong curling.

I have no idea what he's playing but I like to think that he's screaming:

"You sunk my Battleship!!"

That's Settlers of Catan.

Can confirm a blocking of the Longest Road is rage inducing.

I concur losing longest road or biggest army is rage inducing... but not as rage inducing as having a win stolen in Mahjong and losing a #### ton of chips because the other person won with a high value hand.
