which one did you end up ordering? from Memory express I'm guessing?

I think I may have to go that route too, doesn't look like I'll be able to snag a FE version anytime soon.

I was thinking of going with that one too, seems like people have recorded pretty decent thermals and speeds for the cheapest one.

Sweet thanks btimbit. If by what you said 4-6 weeks awesome haha. I'll continue to try to get that FE one in the meantime. (at least this way I'll have a card on order..should've done this from the start)

I called today to confirm the rumour and the guy I talked to said 4-6 weeks sounds about right. Said they have almost 3600 people waiting (Canada wide) and have delivered less than 200 so far, to give me an idea of the scope of the delay

Did they charge you? I backordered as well and got a receipt, but not paying until it comes in.

Yeah I got charged right away, but I did it online so that could be why. Plus had a new case and power supply in the same order

I like how the Founders Edition looks and I want one (3080).

But they seem to be impossible to find, whereas other versions like MSI or EVGA are merely hard to get.

Any chance they produce more FE? I’m in no rush.

I've always wondered the appeal of the Founders Edition cards, since they're just reference cards with standard clocks and nothing special about the cooling capabilities. Is it because you can guarantee they're actually built to spec unlike some of the power delivery on the third party cards?

Did you watch the video in post 1515? That's probably why.

I think those 3rd party cards actually are built to spec, the FE just has certain components that are better than the cheapest spec-compliant version.

I just got this notice from Memory Express.

I was going to wait until November to get a card, hoping that supply would improve but maybe I'll get in line now just in case.

I was #16 in line to place a pre-order at the Memory Express SE location on September 17. They still haven't called me to say my card has arrived.

The 3080 FE isn't a normal FE like in previous gens, it's a custom board and cooler no other manufacturer is using that board.

I jumped on a back order at Memory Express after btimbit talked about ordering his. (Went for the ASUS Tuf as well)

I also went to the EVGA site and signed up/notify me on the XC3 cards they're doing a queue now for the cards (people who did the notify me on release date are getting their orders in/shipped out now).

I originally wanted the founders edition card because I thought it looked pretty nice and unique. For some reason I thought I'd be able to order it right away...nope.

Yeah I'm glad I got in line when I did. I'm somewhere in the 3000s so I'm expecting it to be a while before I get it.

Considering placing an order for a MSI and EVGA card too and just seeing which comes first and then cancelling the other two

Speaking of MSI, anyone else see that they got caught using a subsidiary to scalp their own 3080s on ebay?
https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comm...on_ebay_links/

This was MSI's response:

Have I mentioned yet how much I appreciated you parting with your card?

Ryzen 5000 series CPUs announced, coming out Nov 5. Looks like I'm upgrading my computer!

5950X as well with 16 cores, but $750 USD for that I'll probably go with the 12 core 5900X

Looks like they're much closer to Intel for gaming (if not better).
