Default Small Tear/Puncture in LED TV Screen

Hey folks. I just noticed a small tear or puncture on the surface of my tv screen. It shows up as a white spot when the tv is powered on, and it's rough to the touch as if something scraped or poked it.

I'm hoping the answer I think I'm going to get isn't true, but I'm wondering if any experts out there can tell me if something like this can be repaired or if I'm SOL.

It's a great set and I believe it would be worth repairing if it can be done.

my Samsung had the whole screen panel replaced, under manufacturers warranty, so it is possible, I was frankly surprised that was cheaper than a new TV but they did it and it works fine
