The recap video they posted yesterday was great too:

I don't have cable so I'll be watching my saved version of the game. I'm sure there's already a full version on YouTube. I'll post it come game time for anybody that wants to watch along with the TV broadcast more or less.

The Flames went with the following lineup for Game 6:

FORWARDS

Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - Jiri Hudler
Sam Bennett - Mikael Backlund - Joe Colborne
Brandon Bollig - Josh Jooris - Mason Raymond
Micheal Ferland - Matt Stajan - David Jones

DEFENCE

Deryk Engelland - TJ Brodie
Kris Russell - Dennis Wideman
Tyler Wotherspoon - David Schlemko

GOALTENDER

Jonas Hiller
Funny how the "fourth line" ended up carrying the mail in this one:

- Ferland had two goals and an assist in 15:20 of ice time
- Stajan had the series-winner and two assists in 17:28
- Jones set up all three of his linemates' goals in 17:02

Meanwhile, Hiller only lasted a little over seven minutes and let in two goals on three shots... oof.

YASSSS was waiting for this one, what a game. They need to do game 3 of Flames-Ducks from the next round afterwards.

Hudler gets pretty underrated in hindsight but he was damn good that year. There were talks after the year that he was looking for a seven-year extension. Imagine how badly that might've gone.

Still... he's the kind of guy who the Flames should be looking at in free agency. Tons of skill and compete level.

Russell-Wideman was a great pairing that season. Too bad they weren't anything after that season

This was as close to the 2004 atmosphere that we ever got during the 16 years from then till now.

What a fun game and unexpected playoff appearance/series win.

Ferland made his career with this series

That was a hell of a signing by Feaster at the time. Just comes in and grabs a free top six winger at $4mil per year for 4 years. I wish more free agent signings were like that.

Rather than "player x scored 30 goals two years ago and is turning 29, he'll likely command $6mil x 6 years".

Oh man, will be tuning in for this. Was at the game with the ladyfriend sitting in the boonies for seats that I paid too much for. But I told myself if they had a chance to win at home in game 6, I would get some tickets and they called my bluff. Worth every fricken penny. This is why we make money. To spend it on moments.

After the first period, the Canucks fans were predictably obnoxious, and me and some dude-bros in blue had some friendly words as they went down to get more drinks. I displayed full confidence in there being "plenty of game left" and "Ramo will shut the door." Ferland's goal just before the intermission was massive. He was so big for that team, bless him. You could feel the tension release in the building. This was the 2015 Flames. If it wasn't a comeback it was barely a win.

After the 2nd period (I believe it was either tied or the Canucks were up by 1?) but we had pretty much exactly the same exchange as I smugly shrugged and declared the Flames to be "chipping away". I believe the Flames went up early in the 3rd with Hudler's goal. The Saddledome was absolutely electric. The people with the huge Johhny Monny and Hudler faces had perfect position right by the glass for the goal. Pure glory. Much posturing with s***-eating grins to the Canucks bros in the seats a few rows above us.

Then almost immediate deflation as the Canucks tied it again pretty quickly (IIRC). But then. Ferland with a glorious miss for his chance at a second, but Stajan perfectly placing that puck. David Jones' kid like smile. I was there when the Flames beat Detroit in 04 and can honestly say this was louder. Nothing could be heard but joy. My girlfriend thought I was crying in my chair but I had a crazy bad headache from screaming at the top of my lungs. What an awesome memory.

I'll make sure to be tuning into this.

It was a different marketplace back then. Not only was the cap millions of dollars smaller, there was a brand new CBA in place when Hudler was signed and no clear view on how much the implemented changes would affect term and cost for mid-tier players.

It was a really good signing, but not the sort of contract we are likely to see again in today's market.

I was a hot house member in 2015 and remember I got a call for an offer to purchase up to 5 tickets in a row for this game in the greens for $500/seat. This included food before the game and unlimited drinks. While it was a steep price but it was a Saturday night, elimination game, and the first playoff action for the team in 6 years.

When they went down 3-0 in the first It felt like money wasted. The multiple comebacks were so fun. Still to this day the best money I ever spent and the best sporting event I have attended live.

Hey all you cool cats and kittens. Here are the links to the 3 periods (I'll put them in the OP as well)

1st: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fa...kxLpgKPhkfe1mn
2nd: https://drive.google.com/open?id=11l...yTH8kScLAu6br0
3rd: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1NR...JUxJexfXgWf5K7

Syncing to the TV broadcast will be tricky as I cut all the commercials and uninteresting replays to condense the file size as much as possible. But it's something at least!

I watched the Pittsburgh versus Washington game earlier tonight, and one thing this game has really cemented is how much better hockey is without Glenn Healy

Best thing about this game is watching Ferland destroy Bieksa every chance he gets. It's still hilarious.
