Pete was funny as the pool boy.

Cecily's one-dimensional female character has a real bite. Sneezing into a Kleenex full of semen (“but I don’t notice”).

Animal Annie - “When I was born I was the size of an Easter ham and then my dad left.”
“Iguanas have two penises, but I wouldn’t know what to do with either one of them, RIGHT, DANIEL?”

Shaq - “I’ve got a joke. A horse walks into a bar.”
I was reading up on Marilyn Monroe and that was literally her acting method. They left her lines all over the set so she could read them.

Loved the black Jeopardy skit. The Toronto accent Drake was using was great and the contrast between that and the American accents were hilarious.

Season Finale - Fred Armisen with Courtney Barnett

Great to see Courtney getting recognition - one of the best young song writers going.

With a season finale, you can expect plenty of cameos.

I'm guessing Fred's partner Carrie Brownstein from Portlandia, and maybe Wiig and Hader to do the Californians. Maybe Trump, Clinton or Berine too.

Maybe Fred does Prince one more time.

Armisen and Hader have a new series in case you were unaware:

Yep great finale. I thought they'd do more of Fred's characters, but they stayed with mostly original material. I liked the musical number at the end with all the cast members.

I thought last night was terrible, one of the worst of the season. The digital short was good, along with the dinner party and parts of the high school play. Other than that everything else seemed flat. Even weekend update didn't really do it for me.

Kyle Mooney is the worst. I hope he isn't back.

I love the high school drama play sketches. It lands every time with me. I just think they are completely hilarious every time. The music, the movements they do between moving the boxes around, and seeing the audience reactions, makes me laugh everytime. Hasn't gotten old for me yet.

I was starting to lose interest with Farewell Mr Bunting, until it finally happened. Thought it was funny.

The Digital was hugely disappointing.

I liked the escape pod sketch, but really because I think that Fred is one of the only people that could pull that off.

I love pretty much everything Andy Samberg does, but I'm not feeling this new Conner character.

He made an appearance on The Voice, and it was terrible.

It was odd (yet awesome) to see Courtney Barnett on SNL, I've been following her career for a couple years now. I wonder if Fred had wanted her on the show? As she's still kinda Indie.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did, but she's getting big enough to get invited on the show on her own merit. She was nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy.

She's pretty amazing, and I was glad to see her play.

Overall I thought the show was good. Farewell, Mr Bunting was the highlight.

Farewell, Mr Bunting, renewed my faith in the show, because if something like that didn't happen, that would have been an all time lowlight sketch for me, but now I love it.

Not sure if this deserves it's own thread yet, but last night was the premiere of Maya and Marty, which is pretty much a shortened version of SNL, except Maya Rudolph and Martin Short are generally the main casts in the sketches, with random pop-ins from guest stars, as opposed to SNL's formula of having a guest host perform in all the sketches. Seems to be getting mixed reviews, but I personally thought most of the sketches were hilarious, with Jiminy Glick's interview of Larry David being the best of the night:

Edit: Coles notes of the episode here:
