Oil stocks up big today, especially impressive with the rest of the market down. Lots of stocks hit new 52 week highs (CVE, CPG, VET, etc.), CNQ even managed a new all time high.
My biggest regret is not buying CVE when it was $1.92 in March of 2020.

WCS @ over $100 US/bbl has happened, but it's generally unfamiliar territory. Not expecting it to sustain, but who knows.

I think that every dollar rise in oil prices means $500 million into Alberta coffers? I recall reading that.

Every $1 jump in the price of oil over the course of a year will increase provincial revenues — through royalties, higher corporate taxes and personal income taxes — by $400 million to $500 million, Tombe estimated.

While the easy pickings may be the rearview mirror, it is interesting to see that in the big picture, Energy as a sector is still fairly underinvested (atleast when looked at in comparison to the S&P500).

Also, Energy stocks overall are still lagging behind where they should be in comparison to WTI.

Some weird stuff happening in the market over the last week, underlying commodity is up 25% and barely any movement on Canadian O&G share prices. WCS closed at $100 USD today.

Can't save the world from climate change by 2030 if there isn't a world due to nuclear/conventional war by 2030.

It's going to be pretty costly to be a 2 vehicle family that drives a lot.

All the more reason to switch to electric vehicles, bicycles, micro-transit, or walking for a daily commute. Save money, get fresh air, and get fit too!

I’ve been biking to work the last 2 years during Spring-Fall. I get excited during the day knowing I get to bike home vs days that I have to drive.

I think the high gas prices will push more people towards this, which is good...but many more are going to suffer because they have no alternatives.

Not that this will actually get anything done. Can't have a nat gas pipeline in Quebec, the ROW could possibly be in the way of an unregulated strip mine.
