Flames Avalanche 5 - Flames 1 | Season Over

One of the best regular season results of all time for the franchise is all for naught, as the Flames get blown out of the playoffs by the Avalanche, and in typical Flames fashion - hit the links before the calendar turns over to May once again.

So how 'bout that new arena!?

Truly a series between the Avs and the have-nots.

Flames Playoff Hockey. What else is new.
I guess the new part is that they were worse than probably ever before in the post season. That was about as bad of a performance you could see from a team... Never could've imagined such a pathetic post season after the best reuglar season since like 1990, AND they went out with a whimper... Mind bottling.

Treliving has some big decisions to make. The core definitely needs an adjustment. They haven't gotten it done in the playoffs. Not even close in the 3 times they've been there. The center(somehow gotta get an upgrade on the #1 center spot and the 3rd line) and goaltending positions are of most importance. Need to get faster and bigger.

You have to wonder if maybe things could have been different if that Zucker trade at the deadline would have gone through. Not that one player would have made a difference, but he's truly the type of player the Flames could have used.

Shameful is really the only word.

Oh, maybe embarrassing too.

I put this series on Bill Peters. Outcoached, and didn't anticipate that after five games in nine night Smith wouldn't have his A game tonight (which he didn't, not to blame him but the guy is 37 and this was inevitible).

Refereeing was pretty gross too though.

This team still has some upside, I firmly believe that.

Credit to MacKinnon and Rantanen, they felt like Crosby and Malkin out there.

This is what you deserve when you lose against a pathetic Oilers team without McDavid. Coast into the playoffs and then coast right on to the golf course.

Never been so depressed after a Flames game in my life.

Didn't even get the good Flames for one game.

Not sure why I thought this season would be any different. At least this year’s Flames got our heartbreak over with in 5 games unlike those early 90s teams that saved the heartbreak til game 7.

Wait til next year!
