The chant starts slow, and gets faster as it goes and as people join in.

Why speed it up so it ends? Why not keep the same pace so it can go on for potential minutes

As in nature, the pace increases towards climax, and then fizzles out unceremoniously.

Weather is not looking real promising right now -- 70% chance of showers prior to puck drop

Sounds like they are trying their very best to drum up a ton of fan and city support for the arena. In my conversation with someone who's working very diligently on this file, it sounds like we are expecting an agreement in principle within 10-14 days.

A lot of things seem to be aligning to make this a very city and fan focused announcement and strike while the iron is hot.

The team is the most competitive it has been in many many years, we are all expecting a long playoff run and they need public support to get this thing going.

Free tickets? Nice. While I'd have no desire to go to something like this, it's still a fun thing for them to do. Wasn't Edmonton charging like $100 for a similar "privilege"?

It was free, but limited space so there was a draw for tickets. Indoors at ford hall.

There was definitely something like that they charged for. Walking through the concourse or something, but I thought it included a viewing party as well.

More and more we see shots of the crowds gathered around where we the hell innwhatever city during playoff games. It’s almost become a rivalry itself, who has he best overall playoff atmosphere. Which is kind of funny, because some of these crowds there’s no way most of the people are actually able to watch the game.

Ah yes the $85 'experiance' tickets where you didn't get a seat but got to walk the concourse haha. That might have been one of the dumbest things I have seen relating to sporting events.
