Look at the headlines "Surging Elks out of the basement" etc. Nevermind Suitor continuing to have a crush on Tre Ford, even when he hasn't played, he still talked about him numerous times labour day.

I challenge anything to top Suitor covering the Riders, especially today. It was so nice to watch a game last week he wasn't involved in. Today it was unbearable.

As I keep saying the Stampeders are simply a bad football team. Arguably the least talented team in the CFL and one of the most poorly coached. It's not like the Elks are a measuring stick but it's evident after these last two games that they have superior talent on both sides of the field. It's kind of sad that the Stamps have fallen this far but it's clear that Huff was the glue holding the organization together as the recruiting and drafting quite frankly has been poor the past few seasons and the product on the field looks like an expansion roster.

While I do agree that the talent level on the team needs to be upgraded, I'm more concerned about the GAF meter as I see a team that's just going through the motions. I think somebody (I think it was Rejean31) posted that the players have tuned out DD and I do believe this is the case.

The defense absolutely checked out and it did appear that last night the team's level of GAF was extremely low. The message is probably getting a little stale for sure but the team watched their QB's throw 9 interceptions in the past two games and it's probably pretty demoralizing knowing that no matter what you do, the team doesn't have a chance because they know that they don't have a QB. What's changed in Ottawa from last season's 4 win team to the current 8-3-1 team? They found a QB that can play. Save for Stevens none of the QB's on this roster should be back next season regardless of who's running the team.

A team's "GAF" meter is directly tied to the key positions, and in this case the QB's. They know the current crop of QB's is not even close to good enough, cannot move the ball consistantly, and leave the defence on the field.
At this point, and I get its almost too soon not to give Boner another chance, but where do you go next, at some point Tommy has to show that he can run a pass offense.
I'm not taking the blame away from DD because he's also in charge of building the team, but from a game plan perspective a coach has to build a playbook around what a QB can do, and it feels like there aren't a lot of things that our QB's can be trusted to do.

I’m not convinced that DD can be both GM and HC. Splitting his time means that both are affected and obviously for the worse. Time for him to decide if he wants to be upstairs or on the sidelines, before someone else decides he won’t do either one.

He currently wears 3 hats. His indecisiveness is going to cost him 2 hats, good chance on all three. He badly needs to hand the OC reigns over. He hires friends, instead of talent. Huff did this (hired exp talent) by getting a solid DC over Claybrooks a couple of times. Dave doesn’t do that - and it shows in terrible coaching schemes. Took way too long to bench Jake, when the whole team had already checked out on him 2-3 games prior. Indecisive HC imploded the whole team for one guy. I think he’s still a great coach, but he’s done himself in with blind loyalty. I think he’ll be very fortunate if he still wears the GM hat once the season is completed. Bonner could be good, but isn’t ready until next year at the earliest. Having Schiltz hurt didn’t help things - but you have to go to Schiltz if he’s healthy, otherwise stick with Bonner. Entire team is given up on Jake and he will lose all three hats if he goes back to the dry well.

Danny Austin seemed to have a bit of a meltdown. Said it wasn't a talent issue, their seems to be a divide on the team and its not just coaching.

Think you're going too far back - this is more 2002-2004 where there are some pieces there but QB play is not good enough.
Meier and co feel very Marcus Crandell / Kevin Feterik / Tommy Jones esque

Who is Coach Q, and did that really happen?
I just saw DD"s comments after the game, this is about to get much worse before it gets better.

Pretty sure CC is referring to Lary Kuharich and yes it did happen...
Kuharich's final game as the Stampeders' head coach was a spectacular implosion. Leading the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 1989 West Division semifinal, Calgary was looking good; so good, in fact, that Coach Q turned to the hecklers in the crowd and gave them a one-finger salute.

Very hard to be invested in this team the remainder.
Nothing fun about them.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are signing quarterback Jake Dolegala and Bryan Scott, a source has confirmed to 3DownNation. TSN’s Dave Naylor was the first to report the news.
Dolegala was released by the B.C. Lions in mid-August following the team’s signing of Nathan Rourke. The six-foot-seven, 242-pound passer started one game for the team earlier this year and completed 14-of-23 pass attempts for 146 yards in a 33-16 loss to the Edmonton Elks.
