It seems like it's basically just the "dunk on Jordan Peterson for doing something wacky" thread at this point, and he didn't have many defenders to begin with. Then he had a bunch of health problems and disappeared, and when he resurfaced he went from "insane" to "insane and deranged".
If Sam Harris still counts as part of this IDW thing, he's still the same guy as he was and is still good. But no one really has anything to say about you if you're consistent in your views for a decade, you have to say new and crazy things to get attention, so not much to talk about there.

Lol....will admit that I had to look back through this thread to make sure that I hadn't said anything positive about him. I do think that Petterson was an articulate speaker at one point, although he was clearly masking that to push some anti-trans and pro-gender role agenda. He's definitely taken a turn for the worst lately, as he's not even making an attempt to sound articulate.
He seems to have fallen into the paranoia trap that many right wing public figures fall into. People are probably at his throat consistently about his views. Instead of realizing that a lot of his views are indeed hateful and much of the criticism is warranted, he turns back into echo chamber and characterizes all of the criticism as being the result of malicious people out to get him.

He basically went from being a total loon but whose lunacy was largely innocuous in and of itself, and unfairly maligned as a bigot, but simultaneously inspiring a lot of young men to act terribly at all times, to fully embracing the terrible world views of those young men and justifying more or less all of the criticisms of everyone who ever called him an #######.
I really don't think there's any reason to waste time paying attention to his antics at this point, if there ever was.

Cleaning your room is a good idea.
Being a strong responsible father is a good idea.
Peterson’s crusade against gender pronouns is the least interesting thing about him.
(This would also apply to anyone who views their sexuality as a substitute for a personality.)

Honestly, I just think he leaned hard into it because that's where the money is. He's not the first. Tucker Carlson was always a twit but there's a big difference between how he talks now compared to ten years ago.
