I had plans to ride a trail from Deadman’s Flats to Canmore a few days ago. I turned back within 200 feet. It was snow covered.. Even the legacy trail had snow/ice patches in several spots and lots of gravel.

my goal this summer is to beat your time on this segment - but it annoys me that was a great opportunity and fate intervened in a negative way

Wait for a strong west wind and start doing some segment repeats.

New Bike Day!!!
Happily picked up my wife’s new Kona Sutra, mines still a few weeks away. It finishes the collection!
Touring - 2019 Kona Sutra
Road - 2011 Kona Zing
Mountain - 2018 Giant Reign 2
Cruiser - Aero Manhatten
Winter - 2008 Scott Aspect
We have toured a lot, but never in Canada. So, weve always rented. I can’t wait to get out and see what sort of touring we get up to this season.
Keep exploring on two wheels!

New bike day is the best. My daughter got a new one the other day, she's still smiling.

Not sure I would be able to deal with the visual kinda like the Lefty fork.

talking with the shop guys at Bow, they said the structure rides amazingly well. It's heavy though. Climbing was a grunt, but descending was a lot of fun.

Road tire recommendations
Hey guys,
Any recommendations for road tires? What's everyone riding? I'm currently riding on Conti GP 4000's, which I am happy with. Just thought I'd try something different for a change. I've ridden gatorskins in the past. Looking for a fast tire with good durability. Mostly smooth pavement, little to no gravel. I noticed some good pricing on Schwalbe One V-Guard. They have good reviews (though limited).
TIA

I ride Conti GP 4000 as well and I'm happy with them. I have Gators on another bike and didn't find them to be much more durable than the 4000s.
I also like 4000s because they're really easy to get and go on sale once and while. Gators are easy to get too. It's the other brands that seem be bike shop specific.
If you're a data guy, here's an older test comparing the two tires for puncture, rolling resistance and weight.

Y'all need to size your pictures properly or spoiler them. It makes it really tough to reply to threads when the picture distorts everything.
I use Continental 5000 tubeless 700 * 25 on my two main bikes. My S5 is on Zipp 303s and has had one flat since being on the road in June 2019, when I rode over some glass and it cut the sidewall. It left me enough pressure in the tire to get to a shop to put a tube in so I could get home. My Huru has the tires on Zipp 202 NSW wheels. No flats on these yet. I carry 2 CO2 cartridges and a valve with me on every ride.

Anyone know what the ticket would be for cycling through fish creek before opening hours of 8am? Or how strict they are with opening hours.

You really need to think about where you like to ride and what's on that road, both in the spring and mid/late summer after rains and wind have cleared stuff off. I'm still on the heavier training stock wheelset w/ Armidillo's and typically run these until end May then the carbon deep wheelset and better tires come out. 4000''s have been considered top5 for years, and now getting displaced by the newer 5000's. If you want light then you'll be giving up longevity... which might be ok if you're racing. For daily I'd rather not stop for more-frequent flats. Also go onto Cyclingtips and look at their article about riding pressure. Good stuff.

I've definitely rode there before 8am. I think it just means the gates to the parking are closed?

Nose Hill Park has the same sign. I think it is more to discourage camping/sleeping there, etc.

I wonder if these are just modified pandemic hours. 6pm is early as hell to be closing Fish Creek.
