Going to return the Playbook for either a Prime or the new ASUS MeMo 370T that got announced today. Leaning towards the 7 inch screen for my usage.

Hopefully we can find a floor model of a Prime to try it out!

Canada Post has my Transformer Prime. I was assigned a tracking number on Saturday but it appears it wasn't actually given to Canada Post for delivery until after the shipping deadline yesterday. So the amended expected delivery is Friday (the 13th!)

Video showing off some of the new features of OS 2.0 for PlayBook. This video deals with the native PIM apps.

This is the second part of the video for the PlayBook 2.0 demo.

BlackBerry Remote. Use your BB phone to control your PB. Looks pretty cool.

Companies are releasing 4mm thick TVs at CES and RIM is releasing an email client for the Playbook. LOL!

I was very close to picking up the ASUS Transformer Prime but after the CES announcements I think I will be waiting for the 7" version. And then something better will come out and I will wait for that. And then something better than that...

ASUS must have pissed off a lot of people that just bought the Prime that came out in December.

I already have the original Transformer but I think the 7' version with pretty much the same specs as the prime for only $250 is going to be too good to pass up.

I think I will grab one of those as well at that price.

Viewsonic looks to be creating the budget tablet to end all the rest of them:

800x480 screen resolution...most current phones are doing better than this 7" tablet, out of the gate.

Does that hold for all companies?

I wonder how many people are going to buy this tablet and then complain that it sucks and that it's not an iPad while being completely oblivious to the fact that they bought a tablet for $170.

I don't think screen resolution is a deal breaker for most people. If the tablet OS is good (and I assume ICS is) and it is reasonably fast and responsive, it will certainly be a welcome tablet for many budget restricted people.

You need to understand that almost no one will be going FROM an iPad to a Viewpad, so it's not like they will suddenly be let down by it.

Ah didn't see that.

I'm not sure how big of a deal that is though. It matches the (currently) dominant tablet on the market in PPI.

I think the whole point is that it will drive prices down.

Glad I didn't buy the Nook Tablet.

Or that the market is fragmenting - there are going to be a lot more options at a bunch of different price points. You will be able to get low end tablets that do a lot of things fine, then moving up everything will be an option.

The tablet market is aping the other computer segments.

I can't see browsing being very enjoyable at all with such a narrow resolution in one dimension. Will it be a welcome tablet, or will people get it, realize its not a very enjoyable experience, and decide that tablets aren't for them? We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

I have received my Transformer Prime.

Charged it up, applied ICS (4.0.3) and everything looks good. I haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet.
