Bennett should get something very similar, if not a little less.

What good reason would Bennett have for taking less? Bennett will get a 3 years at 2.25-2.5 mil

Roughly $8.1 million that they need to use on Lazar, Bennett, 2 additional Fs, and 1 d-man. (assuming they go with the 14f 7d 2g roster; F. Hamilton, and Bartowski make the roster)

This is the right deal for Ferland. Let's hope he proves he deserves may more than in 2 years.
Bennett about $500k/year more.

That sounds like room for Jagr to me.

2 years is good enough. Lets see what Ferland is made out of for the next few years. Hoping he can score 20 this upcoming season!

cant go wrong with that signing!
happy with the $ and the term...1 more year at that AAV would have been great, however, i am sure that wasn't going to happen at that price
hopefully, Ferly will do great and we can resign him to an extension prior to him becoming a UFA

The hockeyfeed site on Facebook had it as $3.5M AAV which would be horrible. $1.75 is very nice but would have preferred a bit longer term. I assume Bennett is getting 2 years which could make for tricky extensions on Ferland, Bennett, and Tkachuk in 2 years time with the likes of Brouwer still eating up a large portion of the cap space

If someone wants to overpay for Ferland on the open market you let them.
This is a great deal - twice the player Lance Bouma was, making $500k less for one less year.
BT learning from his mistakes. These are great players to have, necessary players, but you can't make the mistake of overcommitting to them.

Is it actually 1.75M for 2 years for 3.5M or is it 3.5M for 2 years for a total of 7M because this one site has him saying he will be earning 7M for 2 years.
https://www.hockeyfeed.com/nhl-news/...forward?ref=jo
for sure Ferland at 1.75M for 2 years is a great deal. I'd rather he have that than 3.5M
