Elliott wasn't overly tested, but made the big saves when needed. Congrats on tying the flames record.

Big road trip coming up and hopefully the flames continue to roll.
We forget that Gio missed the playoff run two years ago, so he wants the playoffs worse than anything. Question is can he go into even more beast mode in the playoffs? That will be scary for opponents.

He will probably get a fine or possibly even suspension. It was a dirty elbow.

Agreed. Thankfully, Calgary is east of Vancouver.

Honestly after all of the abuse this team took in the first half of the season, I couldn't give a crap if Oiler fans or King fans have their panties in a bunch about the elbow. I've said from the start that the Flames need to have a few guys that play with an edge.

Plus the Oilers still employ guys like Kassian so ass far as I'm concerned they can STFU.

Here's hoping that if we play the Oilers in the playoffs that KT slowly and painfully feeds the golden boy his mouth guard.

Also Elliott would have to maintain his level of play. That's not always easy.

I really think he should get a couple games rest as soon as they clinch.

Great win for the Flames. Not quite the final nail in the Kings' coffin, but pretty damn close. 11 points back with 11 to play is pretty tough to overcome. Even if the Kings take the final two games, they still have to overcome a 7 point deficit in 9 games. Seems highly unlikely. Hope they do the Oilers in their next game and give themselves some false hope.

Oh, and nice debut by Lazar. Played an enthusiastic game and fit in well with Bennett. Nice piece for the future.

30-0-1 when leading after 2. That is extremely impressive

Also with the win tonight we're up to a 98.9% chance of making the playoffs

I'm happy he threw that elbow...suspension or no (don't think it should be but NHL)

Teams have been doing stuff like that to the Flames for years with little or no response

also, guy wasn't hurt

It's a longshot, but the way the team is surging it's not out of the question.

If we can make up 4 points on the Sharks over our next 9 games (and their next 10) we will be only down one point for our final regular season game which is against them.

It's possible.

To think, Lazar might turn out to be a more accomplished NHLer than Yakupov by the time all is said and done; a guy the Flames got for free turning out to be more than what the Oilers used a first overall pick to get.
