The last 6 are murder - hopefully have a spot clinched up prior. One home and one away against each of LA, SJ, and ANA.

Edmonton with their last two games against Vancouver.

Not ideal

I foresee a win in the Honda Centre in the 3rd last game, clinching a spot (or maybe clinching home ice).

Edm also have a home and away with SJ, ANA, and LA right before that home and home.

Something tells me this division is going to come down to final couple weeks to determine a lot of the standings.

This is going to come down right to the wire, if the Flames can get one of(both would be excellent) a top 4 Defencemen and/or a top 6 Forward(preferably a top 6 RW), than the Flames can do some damage in the playoffs.

Depending on Johnson and Elliot, the goal tending maybe a question mark.

The Flames have been playing at a 1.35 point per game clip (15-7-1) since starting the season 8-12-1 (first 21 games). I don't expect them to stay at 1.35 the rest of the 38 games remaining, but a .20 drop still gets them over 91 points.

The good news for Friday the 13th was that the Bhawks and Jets lost in reg time. The Flames are only 11 points back of the Bhawks for 1st in the conf and 5 points up on the Jets.

Feel bad for the Preds but this is good for the Flames...Josi joined Subban on the IR, Thursday. That team has been hit hard with injuries; it's admirable they've been able to hold their head above water.

And LA having to run without Quick since the start of the season is another one. Flames do control their own destiny, which after the start they had is pretty remarkable.

The other silver lining is catching STL. The Flames can't pass STL, but it opens up some scenarios for Dallas and Nashville where they are chasing that central spot rather than the wild card.

Man the PGT from last night was pathetic and embarrassing. It may come right down to the wire which will make for some awesome exciting hockey! When Johnny and Monny get going playoffs are virtually a lock, that's the silver lining. We're mid Jan after a terrible start and two underperforming start players and the team is in a playoff spot. PGT from last night was bang on. That was a pathetic effort. It's time GG starts calling out guys including the lack of heart and desire of this group and makes some changes.

I am with everyone. Swept by the Oilers is a terrible pill to swallow. Team is reeling and it can feel like all hope is lost BUT, Lots of hockey to play , flames responded once and have slowly burnt out. Does not mean that flame cant re ignite. we are very much still in this.

As bad as it has been, as of this morning we are still sitting in that wild card spot.

Absolutely need 2 points tonight, or we could be out of a spot by Wednesday.

LA plays a back-to-back starting tonight, but at least it's on the road and they suck on the road. One of them is against the NY Rangers, a team that's been high-scoring lately.

Vancouver plays tomorrow against the Avalanche, which is a pretty 'gimme' 2 pts.

The Flames aren't playing the best, but we have hope, and playoff runs are built on hope.

Flames teams that missed the playoffs in the past would usually go on runs around this time of the season, during the dog days after the holidays and before the all-star break. They would beat teams they had no business of beating.

This season's version of the Flames will get through a down stretch of games and get back to winning games they should be winning very soon. Playoff bound.

At the all star break

6. Nashville (24-17-8) 22 ROW, 56 pts--third in the Central Division
7. St. Louis (24-20-5) 23 ROW, 53 pts--fourth in the Central Division
8. Calgary(25-24-3) 23 ROW, 53 pts--fourth in the Pacific Division
__________________________________________________

Los Angeles (24-21-4) 23 ROW, 52 pts
Vancouver (23-21-6) 19 ROW, 52 pts
Dallas (20-20-10) 20 ROW, 50 pts
Winnipeg (23-25-4) 21 ROW, 50 pts

The Flames currently hold the last playoff spot. The 3 Pacific Division teams and 2 Central teams that are ahead of the Predators won't be listed until they are closer to the pack. The Bhawks are 9 points up on the Preds and the Ducks are 10 points up on the Flames. The Avs and Coyotes are too far back and won't be making the playoffs.

I really believe they'll make it.

Johnny's going to come back from the Allstar weekend and go on a tear.
