interesting exercise- should be easy by now with all the rankings and other mock lineups we have done over the past while
4 spots were easy- forwards I had to muse a bit about and decided to go with 3 distinct positions
coach also a bit pesky

Id be interested in an all time flames player lineup with players in their prime so we could include guys like Jagr, Nolan, Amonte, Bertuzzi.
That would be an interesting activity
Jagr - Nieuwendyk - Iginla
Fleury - Gilmour - Hull
Johnny - Nilsson - St. Louis
Nolan- Mcdonald- Bertuzzi
Mcinnis - Suter
Regehr - Housley
Gio - Mcrimmon
Kiprusoff
Vernon
Gigure
im sure i missed some pretty elite players but damn what a team

yeah that's a hard exercise
but on forward alone you would have to consider Makarov as a no brainer, and then both Loob and Mullen were for a time first time all star RWs...bertuzzi was a good player in Van but he and Nolan need to move aside at minimum as there is also a prime Gary Roberts to consider head to head with those guys
goal is interesting as Fuhr and Cujo are in the mix too

Ya youre probably right, i was just thinking nolan and bertuzzi would be better fits for the bottom 6 but youre likely right theres just too much to choose from that top 6 is filthy though.
Honestly forgot about Fuhr haha hes probably in over Gigure hey? its fun to think of, good trip down memory lane of these guys and their stints as flames

Gio and Macinnis should be the d-pairing IMO.
Giordano won a Norris trophy as a Flame and has been in the conversation of best d-man in the league for about 5 years now. (If not for the torn bicep there was a good chance he win's the norris that season too.)
Macinnis is the only other Flames d-man with that type of pedigree.

Concur
the way I look at it there are 4 players that I think you could make a legit argument that there was a time where they were the 'best in the league' at their position (meaning forward, D or goalie- so I am not talking about Mullen or Loob or Phaneuf or etc making a first team all star slot in a given year)
Iggy
Gio(Norris)
MacInnis (deserved Norris in Calgary IMO- reputation came stronger in StL)
Kipper
so I felt most comfortable with those 4

I went with Badger Bob as the coach. He was able to motivate the entire team, rookies to vets, across several roster changes and several teams. He was rarely outcoached by the other team. Sort of a prototypical guy.

Same.
Seems I'm the only one who has posted their choices here so far who would pick Roberts over Fleury...
Roberts - Nieuwendyk - Iginla
MacInnis - Giordano
Kiprusoff
Bagber Bob

Im the same except for Gio...i put Suter there.
This was a lot more difficult than i thought it may be.
Gilmour and Mullen up front and Gio on the backend were really hard to leave off.

This was harder than I thought.
Iginla
Theo
Nieuwendyk
Giordano
MacInnis
Kiprusoff
Sutter
It was tough to leave Gilmour and Mullen out of the forwards. And I struggled between Badger Bob and Sutter. I went with Sutter just because he could squeeze every little bit out of the talent he had.

What would be interesting would be to do an all time worst lineup for each team. It would have to be made up with players who were regulars at their positions (like worst first line center, starting goaltender and the like).
