Metallica at the Winnipeg Arena in 2004. The same day of Game 1 against the Sharks.

I was lucky enough to win a meet and greet too and found out from Hetfield who was watching backstage that the Flames had won. I had heard "Go Flames Go" chants when we were waiting but didn't know if that meant they had won or not.

My first concert was the worst, Duran Duran at the dome, My girlfriend made me go, and I hated it.

But I got her back by making her go to the Iron Maiden Twisted Sister concert at the Dome.

Men at work in the Corral, I think it was 1983. They were a great fun band with enough recent hits for a teenagers first concert but I thought the opening act the Shakin Pyramids We’re freaking amazing! I have loved rockabilly ever since that fateful night!

I guess 37 years is a little long for me remembering my youth, this was my second concert but the first tickets I bought. 2 months earlier we were visiting family in Toronto and we went to The Police picnic. No idea how I messed that up, guess I am older then I care to admit and enjoyed the last 3 plus decades a little more then needed.

Some local death metal band called 3rd knuckle deep playing a bar (Goose Loonies) in Lethbridge, I didn't know it was happening when I went there, it was awful.

Next was Snoop Dogg opened by Choclair

Motley Crue at the Dome for the Shout at the Devil tour.
I was thinking I was at that but I looked and I don't think they came to Calgary on that tour, must have been Theatre of Pain. Was that the one where Tommy Lee's drum riser tilted 90 degrees?

I don't remember for sure which was my first concert but I'm pretty sure it would have been in the Corral. I'm thinking it was Dio with Bon Jovi opening but I can't find any record of it. Bon Jovi was just starting out (and got boo'ed) but records show he came here that year with Scorpions and I've never seen them but I wish I had.

And yes, that was my first concert as well.

Nickelback opening for Everclear at Maxbell in 2001.

I don't really like concerts, wonder if this is why...

I checked setlist.fm and they don’t have it listed but I’m sure they played here for Shout at the Devil.

Yeah, Theatre of Pain was when the drum riser first tilted.

I think Blue Oyster Cult. Or April Wine, can’t remember which was first.

1992 Big Valley Jamboree. Bryan Adams, Sass Jordan, Steve Miller, among many others. I was just a kid, but I still remember pushing my uncle's big yellow van out of the muck, the enormous lines at the porta-pottys, and Bryan Adams playing Cuts Like a Knife.

Jethro Tull in 72 at the Corral on their "Thick as a Brick" tour. They played the entire album and then for the 2nd set they played a bunch of songs off Aqualung.
The opening act was an unknown band from Southern California called the Eagles.
Quite the night.

Yeah, I want to say ‘87.
