Default Additional draft day instructions

As a reminder our draft is next Saturday at 10 am Calgary time.

Here are some things to do to get ready, and to prepare on the actual day of

- Please review the thread for overagers. Overagers are not eligible in our draft. If you pick an overager and no one notices - you will lose the pick.

- If you are not going to make the draft, make sure you find someone to pick for you. The league will not do it for you as we will be busy running the draft.

- Make sure you have your list together and are following along during the draft. Teams should be able to make their picks generally within about 60 seconds. That is quick - but there really is no excuse for not being able to do that. I will warn you if you are taking too long. If you need more time communicate with me. If you go silent or don't respond to me - that's when I will skip you. Your pick will get deferred to the end of the round if you take too long.

- If you make an error and pick a guy already picked - that's ok - mistakes happen. If it continues to happen from the same GM, we will move your picks to the end of the round. Again if no one notices and we move on your pick will go to the end of the round.

- You will make your picks in a dedicated thread - post the team, the pick number and the player you are picking. PLEASE make sure you post all this information.

- If a trade happens during the draft let me know via the zoom or PM. Trades should still be processed as normal

- Scorp: Please post the zoom link when you have it.

- We will follow our normal process for a supplemental draft where guys not taken in the CPHL draft but taken in the NHL draft will be drafted by teams choosing to participate. The intent of this is to give asset weak teams a bit of a boost, so strong teams shouldn't participate. This will happen AFTER the NHl draft. Any draft eligible players not drafted in the CPHL cannot be signed as free agents between the CPHl draft and NHL draft.

The main thing is prepare and give the draft your focus during these 2-3 hours. This ensures it moves along and everyone enjoys it.

Sorry just to add, in case it helps, there is a draft page on my spreadsheet with all of the possible picks separated by position, if you X a player as drafted, that player will vanish. It might be helpful if any of you want to use it, let me know.

I just PM'd everyone the zoom link for Sat from Scorp. Do not post it on the main forum. Let me know if you didn't get it.

I wouldn't say they were for nothing. There was talk that TheScorpion's Florida picks were amongst the best of the draft. Looks like he did a great job helping you out.

I am grateful to him for doing that for me. Just was shocked and pissed at myself for being a moron and not seeing that it started at 10 instead of 11. Was here the whole damn time putting the final touches on my list.

I’m probably a little sensitive. I drafted for a GM (no longer in the league) the last couple of years with nary a thank you.

I was happy to be able to participate at all, what with no picks to my name heading into the day... thanks for the recognition Matt and I’m sorry it didn’t go your way with the timing. I hope I gathered you some decent assets who you can move for guys more up your alley.

I’ll say one thing, that Antonio Stranges kid might be a star.

Jiri, are we really going to wait for the NHL to have their draft before our supplemental draft? By the looks of it that could mean we do the draft during our season.
