Oh he’ll definitely be back, that’s like his third retirement announcement.
If he’s holding out over $ or because of the % of revenue the fighters are currently making, this could be a very good thing. The fighters have always been criminally underpaid and need a union.
Masvidal has called out the UFC over the last few days(and just spoke on sports centre tonight) for only sharing 16-18% of their revenue. Jones is threatening to vacate the title. Cejudo just retired in his prime, because he wasn’t getting paid enough.
The biggest stars in the game are finally starting to speak out and hopefully this leads to change.

Norm!

What do you even do now with the woman's side of things so unbalanced. There's no doubt that Nunes is the best fighter in history. She basically toyed with the number 1 contender tonight and landed a ton of shots.

People have asked the same thing with GSP and Ronda when they were dominating their divisions. In due time, there’ll be rising stars and stronger competition

That Muhammad/Good welterweight fight last night was amazing.
I'd love to see those guys fight again.

I'm only a casual fan of the UFC and only started watching fights a few years ago. I've been following more of the news lately and it seems like it is time for Dana White to step down. He did a lot to build UFC into what it is today but more and more it seems like he is tearing it down right now. I think they need someone new to take over and clean things up in the organization before it becomes too late.

I don't know, there's always been that viewpoint. I personally see that he's continuing to push the sport and break new grounds like he always has. I could see the sport taking a huge step back without his drive

I agree. Fighting appears to be a shady business to start, but I think if Dana wants to clear the image of the sport, it's really not that difficult as it's within reach:
- Become a little more professional in pressers - no need for endless cussing
- Chastise cheaters instead of making excuses depending on if it's a star getting busted
- Get rid of the WWE antics for fight promotions. Sure they work, but it's a cheap way of doing business, especially when people want to see bigger antics as time progresses. It's a slippery slope
- Pay fighters better so you don't have public spats. I honestly don't know if they are willing to do this considering the price they sold the organization for, but it's something they should be doing
I like how the announcers (namely Rogan), have progressed over time. They're less about naming moves, and more talking about the strategy, and that's about getting people to slowly understand. Dana's getting older but he acts like a brat, and he needs to run the organization a little more professionally with standards. Right now it seems like he's part of the show, looking to pick arguments with reporters to keep them in line. It's a gong show some months.

Unbelievable scrap from Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier last night. Credit where its due that was one of the most exciting fights I’ve ever watched. Non stop action from the pair of them!

Poirier’s never been in a boring fight, it’s pure violence every single time. Great comeback by him, it wasn’t looking good after the second round. And Hooker is ridiculously durable. One of the best fights of the year so far.
Love Bisping on commentary, he brings a lot of excitement and it’s like watching with a buddy when he’s on the mic.

And 'ole Conor McMouthpiece tweets his 1st round tko win over Poirier while every other fighter that I saw sent congratulations for the win, and for such a great fight.
I can't stand that twit trying to make everything about him. I'd like him to come back to the octagon, lose three or four in a row and fade off into the Irish countryside with his big mouth and his big money, sell his whiskey and pop the odd senior on the weekends.
He embodies what has made me lose interest in the sport. I'm now a casual fan at best, when I used to be a hardcore.

I'd like to see Poirier/McGregor at lightweight. Cutting to featherweight was too much for Poirier.

Damn. Masvidal v Usman. On fight island. And on one week notice. This stuff actually gives me stress. Like what if I had to fly to an island somewhere in Dubai and fight some mean guy in 6 days. I couldn't even handle the 19 hour flight. Sometimes I have nightmares. I actually wake up and think, ooooh man...awesome! I don't have to fight Georges St Pierre tonight. I love my life.

Really hope Masvidal can pull it off. If he does, he goes from star to megastar.
It’s unfortunate what happened to Burns but I’m more hyped for this one.

These guys can do it. What's interesting to me is he'll probably be substantially bigger than his opponent by fight time Saturday.

Looks like all 6 of the title fighters made weight.

This Bogatov Santos fight is hilarious. I've never seen so many illegal strikes in the same round.

That Prochazka knockout, wow!
I think Usman, Volkanovski, Yan, and Rose will win. Hope I'm wrong about the first three, especially Usman.
