The Carolina Hurricanes announce the signings of ECHL prospects
Noah Dobson,
Barrett Hayton,
Rasmus Sandin, Ty Smith and
Ty Dellandrea all to entry level contracts
News Update
The Carolina Hurricanes report that they have agreed to a 1 year extension with star forward Mathew Barzal. The Canes 7th selection in the 2015 draft lead the Hurricanes in goals, assist and points last season
Dobson, Hayton and Sandin bring a welcoming change to the Canes as all three are expected to transition from their ECHL club and earn a spot of their CPHL roster. The trio brings the forth the second phase and now joins
Robert Thomas,
Roope Hintz and
Mathew Barzal as the organizations core foundation. Although the changing of guard has been going on for many years, for the first time positions will no longer have a vacancy
All three prospect's made tremendous ground last year, but also unfortunately had disappointing setbacks that may have hindered their ratings in the CPHL. Due to their NHL namesakes, the lack of ice time and games limited their ability to have a CPHL OV to lock them to the Hurricanes roster. Due to the numbers crunch that will hit the organizations depth chats, it's expect that all three prospects will find a place with the Hurricanes if not player, then watching from the press box.
Both Smith and Dellandrea will be reporting to the AHL's Albany River Rats
Also signing deals with the Hurricanes were
Colton Sissons, Markus Sorensen, Sam Miletic, Sean Durzi, Jaret Anderson-Dolan and
Michael Dipietro
