I love watching the swimming events. Fantastic

Silver Medal in the 4x100 Women's Freestyle is a great result; no one was going to beat the Aussies...

The Team Canada women's swimming team never disappoints.

Imagine signing a $23M NHL contract just a few days ago, yet still living in the shadows of your more athletically dominant younger sister.

Poor Jamie.

That Oleksiak family is something else.

What a week for them.

The skateboarding is lame.

I’ve seen better tricks and moves from high school kids at a mall than what these “athletes” are putting out.

Heck, the Canadian looked like he was walking for most of his runs.

The tv execs need to move this snooze fest to another time slot. Like 3am of never.

Because it was prelims? I hope they go all out for the medals.

I am enjoying the skateboarding. The tricks are incredible.

not sure about the skateboarding yet... I am assuming at some point they will be stringing a bunch of tricks together?

the rail slide is ok, but for the uninitiated, its tough to really understand the difficulty, especially when limited to one rail slide?

Maybe I am used to the x-games where there's a lot more stuff tied together?

Skylar Patk is seeded 3 and won her round of 16 match. More importantly, the #1 seed and two time defending champion Jade Jones lost to #16 Kimia Alizadeh of the refugee team!

Park’s quarterfinal match should begin around 00:30 I believe.

Clear separations in ability and execution between 1&2, and between 2 & everyone else.

Great job, Divers!

Canada with a very rough hour at the Olympics:

- Medal favorite Skylar Park fails to advance to the Semi's in Women's Taekwondo 49KG-57KG
- Canada loses in extra innings to Japan in Women's Softball
- Felix Auger Aliassime loses in the First Round to a last second Andy Murray replacement in Men's Tennis

I kind of hate 3x3 basketball. And I'm a basketball fan.

- Why the x? It's supposed to be a 'v'. 3x3 is 9, and 9-ball is billiards.

- Different sized ball. Yeah, it's a ladies' size ball with mens' ball weight. Like, is this done on purpose to make it harder to play both kinds of basketball? Standardize your stuff to the 5-on-5 game, FIBA.

- Once you've standardized the ball to the one best best basketball players in the world already use, let's see what the actual best basketball players can do.

Then I'll care.

Kylie Masse set an Olympic record in the 100m Backstroke (58.17), the record was beaten in the next heat by American Regan Smith (57.96) in the next heat, and then that was broken by Australian Kaylee Mckeown (57.88) in the following heat.

Masse and Taylor Ruck advanced to the semifinals

14 year old Summer McIntosh just set a Canadian record in the 400m freestyle. Should hopefully be enough to qualify.
