Watched The Band Wagon, another fantastic musical from the 50s. There are some fantastic musical numbers, including the last one The Jazz Detective, which Michael Jackson borrowed heavily for his Smooth Criminal and You Rock My World music videos. The movie is pure joy and will leave a smile on your face long after the credits are finished.
The movie is in my top 10 musicals of all time list.

Was really looking forward to watching The Core for the first time and what a colossal let down. The CGI is absolutely horrendous, the script is laughable and the destruction porn scenes are weak. If you want to watch a better end of the world film watch The Day after Tomorrow instead.

The Core is an incredible watch, if you are an Earth Scientist. You need a watch party, like you would for The Room. It's so soooo bad it's hilarious.

Fun film, especially that last segment. As well as those videos, he also referenced it in Billie Jean, used some dialogue from it in the lyrics to Dangerous, and I wanna say there's a scene in a subway station that influenced the Bad music video, but that might be just coincidence.

One of my wife's coworkers recently handed out several copies of Meet Joe Black to the staff for some reason, claiming it was a favourite movie of his. Already a very strange start.
I had a very vague understanding of the movie, but holy ####. So weird and inexplicitly 3 hours long?

It's... good? I think. Entertaining, if nothing else.
Brad Pitt's Jamaican accent / Patois dialogue is legitimately insane.

That’s weird AF and honestly almost kinda creepy. Who hands out copies of a movie about Death? Just maybe sends the wrong message to your coworkers.
Not a bad movie though. Just a little long. I like Claire Forlani.

No kidding. He's apparently very passionate about it, enough to have multiple blurays to give out?
They do work at a hospital... but I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse.

Meet Joe Black sky rocketed up my favorites chart immediately after Brad Pitt got Tag teamed by a minivan and a car.
After that yeah it was just okay.

speaking of which.
On a well used paved walking path near my place there is a large bag of DVDs just sitting there. I'd guess the bag has at least 50 of them.
Says something about the popularity of DVDs in this age of streaming that they're still there 4 days later.
Part of the reason may be that honest people don't want to possibly be stealing, but I think the majority of people just don't want them.

It has a score of 4 on RT out of 52 reviews. Is that the record for lowest? 50% audience score so some horror fans liked it I guess.

Pooh should have been the real cocaine bear. He's got serious addiction issues. You see what he does for honey?

Rewatched Boogie Nights and There will be Blood a few weeks ago. Whenever I get disillusioned with the state of films, the endless super heros, Scream, John Wick and Fast & Furious garbage it's nice to be reminded of the best examples of my favorite artform.
