Lots of little Easter eggs, the return of R5, Anakins engine as a speeder, the ice cream bucket.
So many larger things. The Marshall comes from the books to screen and Timothy Olyphant was a great choice. The Dragon Pearl, Oh and the appearance of what I expect is Bobba Fett.
Now does he show up again, or was this just a giant wink apology to Star Wars fans who were disgruntled by Bobba's comedy death in ROTJ.
Really well done overall with a huge set piece battle. The quest to Kill the Krayt was a salute to the Jedi Knight series of games, though they retconned the dragon to be a snot spitting tremors style worm.
Loved the reaction to the Dragon eating the Raider instead of the animal.
Great start to the season, that serves as a standalone episode.

That was an outstanding opener. A lot of the episode made me giddy. Could be in part that I love everything Tattooine. But it really felt like they went back to the franchise's roots in a number of moments.
Also laughed my rear off at the dragon trolling them with the first baiting attempt. Cool creature. The corpse raiding was slightly disturbing but in a fun way.
So there's this girl Louise Julie who does reaction videos, she's a huge Star Wars nerd, who's done reaction videos to Rebels, Clone Wars and all of the movies. Just to see some pure reactions, go to about 4:30 and about 8:30, its actually hilarious to see Star Wars fans going into shock.

Man that was awesome. Front to back some of the best Star Wars I have ever seen.
Spoiler!
The Boba Fett references and proof of life at the end was among my favourite Star Wars cinema experiences of all time. Just perfect.
Can't wait for the rest.

Loved it. So many little things to like. For example how poor fitting the Marshals armour was, I also loved the fantastic western vibe when Mando rode into town. The Krayt dragon was cool, the design reminded me of a goblin shark.
But what I really liked was the Tusken's, we have never had such a good look at thier world on screen before.
The tip off is in the casting. That was Temuera Morrison who may look familiar albeit aged because he played Jango Fett in the prequels and as we know Boba is the clone child of Jango. So given that, it's an extremely high chance that he is indeed the legend himself.

that looked...more expensive than last season. I think they've got exactly the right amount of budget now, enough to do some really cool sequences (even making yet another trip to Tatooine interesting), but not enough to go full prequel/sequel trilogy and fill the screen with seizure inducing nonsense.
I am kind of annoyed that two seasons in a row now Mando has taken out a majestic and rare desert creature. where is the galactic endangered species act when you need it?

Wow....finally got a chance to watch that episode and that was amazing.
Its just so...simple. Straight-forward and efficient story-telling with characters that endear you to them immediately.
This was the major issue with the movies, the characters were so bland and uninteresting you just couldnt care less about what they're doing.
You liked Olyphant within seconds of his introduction. Like...hell...you even start becoming attached to bartender. Simple, likeable characters.
I like the sound guys work on that episode that made it sound like the Mando and Olyphant were wearing Spurs in a nod to the spaghetti Western motif.
I also think this series has succeeded partly because it doesn't have to adhere to Skywalker lore, therefore you don't have hardcore SW dorks nitpicking the crap out of it to the point where it removes all the joy.
Since it's all new storylines, new characters, and mostly new planets, etc..., people can just sit back and enjoy the ride. They also have 25-30 years of timeline to work with before the events of TFA, so this show could potentially continue for several more seasons.

Okay....now I cant stop thinking about the end of Monty Python and the Holy Grail where the Police come and arrest King Arthur.
If thats how The Mandalorian ends, with the Intergalactic Environmental Protection Agency coming in and arresting him I would be okay with that.

Thats a very good point, but its not even that, its that this is the kind of thing that Star Wars fans want.
Clear, concise stories, characters that we like and are relatable. I mean hell, the Star Wars Galaxy is enormous do they really need to keep going back to the Skywalker well over and over again?
I remember joking with my friends that the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance should announce a temporary truce and hold a Summit to deal with what I term 'The Intergalactic Skywalker Problem.'
That one family has definitely caused far more than their fair-share of InterGalactic strife and damage.
The two sides should agree to an armistice in order to exterminate the Skywalkers and then go back to their regularly scheduled intergalactic conflicts over ideological differences.
