Go to Whitefish/Kalispell area. Whitefish Lake has 36 holes, Buffalo Hill, Big Mountain, etc. Cheap green fees too.

We have a cabin just west of kalispell. Hoping to go this weekend.
We typically play Whitefish Lake, Buffalo Hill, and Meadow Lake. All good courses- hard to say which one I like the most.

I went to whitefish once, they didnt allow tank tops, moustaches and tall boys on the golf course however....so plan accordingly.

I love Buffalo Hill.
Eagle Bend is fantastic if you want to spend some cash.
The course at West Glacier is nice for the scenery.

Meadowlark CC is the best course in Great Falls. I've never been, to be honest.
Old Works is a great course, and it is very reasonable due to being publicly funded, (Superfund site).

Woo hoo, high of 27 and sunny today. Teeing off at Buffalo Hill in a couple hours. The best thing about coming here in late May is there are no Mosquitos yet... It's almost unbearable at our cabin in June/July.

Love it.
The area between Marion and McKillop road is one of my favorite places in the world.

Avoid Meadow Lake, the people that work in the clubhouse are incredibly snooty. Never had a problem with any other course down there.

Who cares if the clubhouse folks are snooty - you only need to spend 10 minutes in there.......meadow lake is a nice golf course

Played Meadow Lake today. Good course- possibly the softest fairways I have ever been on. Didn't have a problem with the employees... Everyone seemed great. A good chunk of the golfers that go there are Canadian I'm sure.
Buffalo Hill is by far the more challenging course. Very skinny fairways and fast greens.
Whitefish Lakes tomorrow morning on the way back to Calgary.

The last 3 times Ive been there we have been treated piss poor from the moment we arrive till we leave. Meadow Lake is a nice course but to me if they want to treat their guests like that they will no longer have me as a guest.

Last time had an 8:30am tee time, got their about 8:10 and we're told that we had to get going as we we're one of the first groups out and we would slow down their whole day. This was about 8:15. There was 5 of us and 2 of us headed out first (with the starter all over us as we we're talking to our 3 buddies behind us, right on our tee time). We head out and notice there is absolutely no one in front of us or behind our friends by about hole 3 so we decide to make a 5some. Marshall comes out and tells us we are to slow to be in a 5some after 1 hole even though there is no one around us. So the 2 of us take off and end up finishing our 18 hole round in about 2 and a half hours, the 3some took about 3 hours. My three friends stopped after their round and waited to see how long till the people behind them were done, they waited 15 minutes and still couldn't see anyone.
The two times before that we had women with us (not LPGA'ers but not terrible either) and both times we got hassled from the starter all the way around the course, once again with people about a hole behind us and we were waiting on pretty much every tee box. One of the women actually quit cause she was so frustrated with the Marshall.
I'm not the only one who has had problems their. I've heard from locals that avoid it as well with similar stories. It is a nice course but the other courses all seem to be more accommodating and frankly not as up tight.
