Can someone fill me in on Sieloff's season? Haven't heard his name mentioned much at all, aside from a stint as a forward, which surprises me. I expected him to come in and be a physical, imposing guy that would make a significant impact. Doesn't appear it's shaken out that way for him, any ideas why?

Sounds like Sieloff has had a tough season but keep in mind be missed a year with a serious illness. Adk is also deep on defense so he is kind of buried there. Honestly a little bit surprised that he hasn't been sent to the ECHL to play more minutes and get some confidence back (seemed to work very well for Kulak)

Sieloff is the youngest Dman on the team, and second youngest player overall. Plus he missed a whole year and a half from injury. Still hope for him IMO, but he mustn't take his time getting back on track, as the Flames are building quite the log jam when it comes to D prospects.

Forward Taylor Stefishen has been loaned to the Flames, according to the ECHL transactions page.

Turner Elson was on the ice for practice yesterday and could play tonight.

Ryan Culkin was also on the ice for practice, however he is in a yellow no contact jersey and not shooting or handling stick. He's just skating.

Acolatse was practicing as a forward.

Adirondack Flames @AHLFlames
The #AHLFlames have signed goaltender Taran Kozun to an ATO.

The Adirondack Flames announced today that they have signed goaltender Taran Kozun to an Amateur Try Out (ATO). The team has also released goaltender Clay Witt from his ATO.

This is the first American Hockey League stint for Kozun, 20, after a four year tenure with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. Kozun had previously attended development camp with the Washington Capitals in 2014.

Kozun posted a 33-19-8 record with Seattle in the 2014-15 season, with a .915 save percentage and a 2.41 goals against average. Kozun posted a career best .928 save percentage in 2013-14 with Seattle, where he was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week twice during the regular season in January and February, and again in March during the playoffs.

Witt did not appear in any games with the Flames after he signed an Amateur Try Out with the team on March 13. Witt joined the Flames after he finished a five season career with the Northeastern Huskies of Hockey East.

The Flames return the Civic Center this weekend as they host the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12. Visit the Flames box office, call 518-480-3355, or order online at glensfallscc.com to be a part of the Adirondack Flames push for a Calder Cup Playoff Berth.

With the season winding down can anyone sum up what the Flames have done with the defence this season? As a casual viewer of the farm team it seems to be utter chaos for the most post. Kulak in the ECHL, AHL and NHL, Seiloff being a healthy scratch and playing forward, carrying too many guys etc. I know with injuries and the natural chaotic nature of a farm club some of that is to be expected but it really "feels" like the Flames dropped the ball in terms of defence this year.

It seems like they should try to identify guys they want early in the season and focus on that group. Now maybe that will happen this year, a first year coach this season and all. Not blaming the guys in the farm btw, but Treliving, Burke and Conroy should have a more stable defensive group.

And it's really obvious Seiloff shouldn't have turned pro at 19.

Anyways, I could he and probably am totally off base with this, that's why I used feeling but I'd love the day - to - day viewers to give some insight on what happened on the blue line this year.

So many young guys on D, they obviously wanted to have some experienced guys in there as well so brought in Yonkman, Acolatse and Potter. Definitely led to a log jam, and I don't see it changing next season either, as we have many young guys still and several RFA's, some of whom I expect will be back so as not to go too young with the D overall.

1. Cundari - UFA Group IV (25)
2. Acolatse - RFA (24)
3. Ramage - RFA (24)
4. Wotherspoon - ELC (22)
5. Morrison - ELC (23)
6. Sieloff - ELC (20)
7. Kulak - ELC (20)
8. Culkin - ELC (21)
9. Kanzig - ELC (20)
10. Yevenko - ATO (22)
11. Stevenson - AHL Guy (25)
12. Roy - Unsigned (20)

That's a lot of potential bodies potentially kicking around again, and that's without bringing in any "vets" like a Potter/Yonkman, which I hope they don't do.

There is also Chad Billins, who is still Flames property IIRC, and played in Europe this past season.

I dunno, poor guy lost a whole season due to a freak off ice injury that had nothing to do with how old he was.

How? He played 1 game and got sick from something that happened when he was in junior. He would be in exactly the same spot right now no matter where he played.
