Split Games vs the Canucks. Victoria 8pm MT - SN. Calgary 7pm MT - streamed
Should be getting the lineups soon after game groups skate at 10AM and 11:15AM
Game in Victoria will be on Sportsnet One, West, and Pacific.
Game in Calgary will be streamed by the Flames online but with regional restrictions.
Like most NHL preseason game expect a more veteran Flames group to play in Calgary and a mostly rookie team in Victoria and vice versa for the Canucks.

Finally! First pre season game or not, I'm just excited to put on my Gaudreau jersey and watch a game, here, in Victoria B.C. (shoutout to Mick Foley)

Our better roster by a country mile is playing in Calgary, while the canucks squad looks like it may be a pretty even split between the two cities- why then televise the Victoria game?? Boo

Ryan, Monahan, and Backlund all in Calgary. I guess that means Janko will be the #1 Centre in Victoria.

I'm more interested to see the B Squad play, I want to see the gems in the bunch fighting for precious few spots.

The past several seasons the Canucks have had a SN television broadcast for all their preseason games. Why just them and not us or the Oilers (other teams with regional rights with the mothership)

Vets tend to kind of mail it in in these games. Guys fighting for spots are likely more entertaining to watch.

So what can we read into Jankowski being sent to Victoria?
Limited role in Calgary but respected enough to lead the squad in Victoria?
or, like the rest of the squad in Victoria, yet to hold a spot on the opening night roster

Not too much as Rasmus Andersson isn't on this list too.
Looks like third d pairing and fourth line going to Victoria.

After the post-season flub, and all their talk of how great being together to start the season in China was... I'd be pretty disappointed to see vets going through the motions out there. I've heard Ryan and Peters talk about how an off-season without travel will be very beneficial.
I certainly expect a lot of "easing into it", but I hope we see vets champing at the bit to try out their off-season efforts.
Guys fighting for spots are more entertaining, so you're definitely right on that. But I hope this year we see a lot of GAS from the vets as well to hit opening night running.

So that leaves for the Vancouver game:
Dube - Jankowski - Czarnik
Lomberg - Quine - Rieder
Froese - Phillips - McKenna
Ruzicka - Kirkland - Robinson
Pospisil - Morelli - Zavgorodniy
Gallant
Kylington - Andersson
Davidson - Stone
Valiev - Yelesin
Leslie - Nielsen
Zagidullin
Parsons
Schneider
Assuming Mangiapane isn't ready and with not much consideration to line combinations, actual positions.

They explained this briefly on 960, and i probably have a few details wrong, but 8 NHL veterans MUST be dressed for each pre-season game. A veteran is defined by a bunch of things including:
- 1st round draft pick from most recent draft
- a goalie who dressed for 50+ games last year
- a skater that played 30+ games last year
- more than 100 nhl games played
This is probably a big reason for a lot of teams signing so many PTOs
