Does it seem sort of strange that the teams aren’t split at all? Just seems like a group of guys who have made the team and a group of guys who definitely won’t make the team.

Neat thing here is the squads aren’t mixed. Usually we get AHL/rookie/NHL players all intermingled, but this looks like the Flames were one of the teams that Friedman spoke about keeping the main squad together for the whole pre-season.

...also I must have missed when we invited Gryba on a PTO.

I'm honestly surprised the Flames haven't invited any left-handed guys. The only viable ones they have at pro but outside the NHL right now are Valiev and Davidson

On the flip side, we should see a pretty competitive team at home on Monday...

Duhatschek had an article on it today. They are trying to recreate the experience they had in China last year with the mostly veteran group bonding.

Remember when that Oiler guy said, a few years ago, that most GM's would trade their roster for theirs? I think Treliving is taking him up on that.

Gryba is sorely needed for Stockton. Heat's RHD depth chart looks like:

Yelesin
Osburn

and Osburn wasn't invited to the main NHL camp.

Heh, almost forgot about that one. Funny how it barely applies to the average ECHL team anymore.

Full scale troll job of the Oilers, proving each player is "visably better" after departing that cesspool of an organization like so many others before them.

Even if they don't land on the Flames, they have the Flames to thank as their careers get back on the track they were on before a bad choice falling for Lowe and his sales tactics, turned into a career limiting nightmare, when they land somewhere else because of this tryout.

Also, setting it up for Taylor Hall to come back to Calgary.

Flames loading up on former Oilers, just to send them all to the AHL. I can get on board with that message.

At least Gryba spent last year in the Devils' system fumigating in Binghamton.
