John Stones is set to miss 4-5 weeks with a thigh injury, so Pep is down to one CB ... Otamendi lol

Sounds like Fernandinho will be a CB now. He certainly can move the ball better than any of their other CB's.

Fernandinho versus Stones is a lateral move at worst so it isnt a crisis, but if anyone else gets hurt they are in serious trouble.

At the very least though, the Norwich game set up the blueprint for teams to attack them so they cant just waltz into games expecting to steamroll their opposition.

That being said, I wouldnt be surprised at all to see them score their way out of trouble, Aguero might have a hell of a year because they're going to have to press and they have DeBruyne who can unlock defences.

I think VAR is good but goals like that Aurier one getting called back where they literally needed a digital ruler to see if he was an inch offside should not get overturned.

No idea how this was “clear and obvious”

And Leicester come back the other way and score. Completely turned the momentum of the game.

that's 7 wins and 10 losses in the last 21. Time to panic?

Why not? That's the whole point of it. Makes it a black and white issue.

You are either offside or you or not.

I honestly couldn’t tell even with the lines on the screen if it was offside, they looked right on top of each other to me.

Crazy to think this Watford team pretty much battered Arsenal last week. Arsenal might be in for a very brutal trip to the Etihad this year.

No different than reviewing if a puck fully crossed the line in hockey. The whole point of these technologies is to get the close calls right.

Everton must be the most frustrating PL club to cheer for.

Because it's ruining the game. That decision completely changed the outcome today, and based on what? Potentially one or two millimeters? It's supposed to correct egregious errors and here we are deciding if a guy was a offside by a margin imperceptible to the human eye.

Spurs do have to get things turned around though. They looked good last weekend, but today wasn't good which followed the dropped lead on Wednesday.

City thinking Goal Difference might come into play this season and not taking any chances I see...

Is that what the league stated when introducing it?

Watford went from looking like Barcelona to Barfalona in six days.

Isn't that the point? Clear and obvious I think is the exact phrase, and a player being off by miniscule amounts is neither.

Except what you are saying doesn't apply.

Factual decisions, such as offside or if a foul was committed inside or outside the penalty area, will not be subject to the "clear and obvious error" test.
