Guaranteed the Leafs used the media to their advantage to float that there were a ton of teams kicking the tires on Martin. While he isn't completely one dimensional, he's last generation in terms of skill and more of a mediocre tough player. Why would a bunch of teams line up for him? I guess you have friends in the media to influence those type of tweets to maximize your value, but a guy like Martin isn't someone you use that card for. Baffling.

Ok. This post makes no sense to me. What card? They get one card per season and they wasted it on Martin? No! What?
It was Larry Brooks from the NYPost who was first to say lots of teams were interested in Martin. Not the Toronto media.
Anyways Martin was a good guy and is a good hockey player for the 4th line. The Leafs just didn't have room for him on the wing. He's the perfect type of guy to be around young players. Just ask his son Mitch.

In that case, to fit my narrative they’ve stooped to the lowest of the low in using Brooks.
Just watch the Islanders knock the Leafs out of the playoffs on the last day of the season.
That would be a nice 12th anniversary reminder when the Leafs got eliminated from a playoff spot. It was April 8, 2007 with Wade Dubielewicz (the Dubie) in net for the Isles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wade_Dubielewicz
