Do they even have iPads in Edmonton? Maybe a modified Speak and Spell instead?

My dislike of GG just increased. Hard to believe, but true. I hope for his perpetual failure and if the Oilers keep beating the Flames with him behind the bench I will loathe him. Guy wastes two years of what could have been entertaining Flames hockey and then goes directly to join our rival? Seriously, could you be any worse?

I assume that signing this contract would void the contract with the Flames, getting them off the hook for paying him. Am I wrong assuming that?

From a business point of view it would be incredibly weird for the Oilers to have an employee who's also on the payroll of their biggest rival...

This will be extra funny when TMac is fired and GG takes over as head coach

Do we end up with a draft pick because they hired our coach while under contract or does that not exist anymore

For the first year and a half of Gulutzan's tenure with the Flames, I was pretty harsh on people who hated Gulutzan and found fault with every little thing he did. Well, I first have to say that I was wrong about him and those posters were right, even if their delivery and logic weren't the most sound at times.

Now that he's an Oiler, I am calling on those posters to double their efforts. Rip into him ad nauseam! Don't hold back! He's now the enemy, and the enemy shall receive no quarter.

Horrible team hires the most mediocre coach in the game.

If the Oilers miss the playoffs next season I assume McLellan gets fired so I assume both of these guys realize this could be a short term position. Happy Gulutzan lands on his feet and I feel he's best suited for an assistant as he's a nice guy and can be a bit of a buffer between the players and head coach.

Nice! Hopefully they adopt the roll all 4 lines mentality...see how it goes without Connor on the ice for 26mins a night.

Gulutzan is probably a better assistant than he is a head coach - if only because he can't be any worse - but what's really funny here is that he is probably the 'answer' should the Oilers stumble out of the gate and they decide to fire McLellan.

Knowing how Gulutzan likes to roll out all four lines it's going to be an adjustment for him to handle Todd's mandate to play McDavid as much as possible.

I thought of this as well. Probably not out of the realm of possibility he could be McLellan's successor at some point.
