I am quite curious to see how he does. Just a gut feeling, but I think a lot of his success in college is due to recruiting more than coaching. Will see how it goes.

They need a coach who can take them thru a rebuild, we will see how that goes

Well it appears we are actually going to see a Rangers team rebuild. Maybe he will work well with young players but as always hires like this are 50/50 propositions at best as it's going to be a big step up coaching pros.

Quinn was the BU coach? Pretty good program to move on from. Hope it works out

That would make sense. Not just because of Quinn, but I remember Hickey once identifying then-NYR Ryan McDonagh as a guy he modelled his game after, which was pretty out of left field for a guy from Leduc.

Long overdue for an NHL gig, Rumors were Minny was going to hire him a couple of years ago.

Players who played for Quinn rave about him, Jack Eichel mentions him often and Charlie McAvoy credits Quinn for making it to the NHL.

The Rangers must see him as the perfect coach for a rebuild the way younger players flourish with him.
